That`s just for starters.

Don`t forget the cup against Sheff Weds.

Lose that and the bonfires will be burning.

Losing that would probably be justified cause to moan, however if it’s so much as 0-0 after 30 minutes there’ll be a pitchfork and torches mob marching down the street.

So if we emulated City’s results, that wouldn’t be good enough??
'sake mate..

Again.. im not saying we should be emulating Liverpool's or City's results - I'm saying we should be looking to emulate the consistency in their results against sides we're expected to beat. It's part of the reason why they're head and shoulders above all else in the league.. so at the very least we should be picking up maximum points consistently wherever we're expected to as a club to even hope of trying to close the gap eventually.

My original point will always go back to the fact that we should never be getting beaten by the likes of Villa and Fulham, home or away. There's a reason why the term 'Everton that' exists and it's based on the fact that we're the kings of being consistently inconsistent. We absolutely need to work on shaking that tag once and for all and the manager has a huge responsibility in that.

But they’re actually not.

You say that like it's outrageous that fans should be upset about that?

One of our key targets this season is a cup run, possibly some silverware.

To go out to a lower league team in an early round of half the things we could win this year would be disastrous.

And it would (and should) be considered a total abject failure on Silva's part IF that were to happen.

The point you are missing, is that there`s a small minority of our fans who actually want this to happen.

They genuinely aren`t happy when the team is doing well, as they`re not being " proved right ".

They completely disappear off here until we lose again and then up they pop with their doom laden posts.

I don't know of any blues who want us to go out against Sheffield Wednesday.

I think JUST as big of a problem as those doom merchants are the ones who cannot accept any suggestion of poor performance or mismangement and shout down anyone with any opinion other than their own.

Hmm..

Capture.webp

You’ve just sent me a picture of them finishing second in the table to try and tell me they’re head and shoulders above everyone else in the league lol lol lol

What do you think about the team finishing in first place losing several games against crap sides mate? That shouldn’t ever happen surely?
Them and City. That much is perfectly clear?

Mate just stop being facetious for the sake of it here. My point is perfectly valid..

I’m not being facetious. I’m genuinely interested to know why you think we have a divine right to beat 12 or so teams home and away in this league every season when even the very best can’t do it.

At this moment hes neither the Messiah nor a very naughty boy, would I have chosen him as manager ,no but outside of the prem Id struggle to name any coaches, there is plenty to fault him on such as the awful run last season, the same formation time and time again, the in game management of throwing forwards on when we are losing,at times his substitutions can baffle, but unless there is a major crisis then let his contract run

I don't think we ever got a Bournemouth weapon on here when they came up giving it the large have we? probably how they're still in the prem.

Alright, I'll take the bait on this..

Those results happened during an obvious blip in City's season and happened relatively close to each other. They recovered well where, admitedly, Liverpool drew one away game too many in the end and ultimately cost them the league. Since then, as I've already said, Liverpool have won 14 games in a row since then and aren't showing signs of dropping anything again anytime soon..

Those kind of results should also, always been seen as a 'blip' for us.. but they arent, simply because we're all too capable of consistently faltering where we really shouldn't be.

Where those Palace and Toon results where an obvious shock for City - they'd have just been waved off as 'Everton that' for us and that honestly annoys the hell out of me.
