Problem with the euro maverick option is our current place in the table and the upcoming fixture list.

No one at the club will want to gamble with premier league status. That's the foundation stone on which their entire future strategy rests.

You have to think it will be Moyes or someone that knows the league (Benitez, Howe) The fact we haven't sacked him yet makes me think it isn't Moyes as we would know already that he would jump at it, so Silva could have been binned on Saturday

...I’ve said for a long time, manager considerations should be an agenda item at Board meetings at least once per quarter. Brands should update the Board on possible global candidates so at least they are prepared when something like this happens.

i imagine this mornings ‘leak‘ is a placeholder to suggest we are making enquiries to gauge availability. It leaves Silva in an untenable position.

Also, I don’t get the ‘interim’ manager tag. I doubt anybody will sign a contract for less than 2 years. I have no idea who the new manager should be, but I would be concerned with Howe.
That would be doing things right,, there are 3 ways of doing things, the right way, the wrong way and the Everton way which is basically the wrong way but slower.

After this news, is impossible Silva return to finch farm tomorrow with the players. He lost all authority to the players. Will be sacked later today

I think maybe Howe is the best we can get. He's done a great job with Bournmouth. At the same time, he shares the same football philosophy that Brands will implement. We can dream of Simeone, Allegri, Pochettino, Ten Haag etc., but these coaches are completely unrealistic

Rafael not even a debate not unrealistic in fact he'd jump at the chance and unlike Howe he's a winner.

Literally no point keeping him just to lose to Leicester and Liverpool - which we would do obviously.

Do you put in a new manager to take the beating right away or do put Unsy in until Jan and hope he can do something inspirational so we're not drowning after the City game?
