What worried me the most about that telegraph article linking us to J Jesus, was t claims the board are reluctant to sack Silva. Wtf? What more evidence do they want he is crap?

At this stage it is all about Moshiri’s pride.

Given the extraordinary lengths he went to and the great expense incurred in bringing this dud here, following on the heels of his two previous managerial embarrassments, to admit to yet another calamity in so short a space of time is just too much for him.

It's nothing more than there is no clear replacement for him as of yet.

And if there is not one now there is unlikely to be one next week or the week after or even the week after that.

So we will just continue losing and drifting toward the bottom.

He needs chucked out and it needs to be now.

Jimmy the Kitman would be better picking the team as thing stand.

The problem of yet another sacked Everton manager would be recruitment of any replacement...

Whichever way you look at we must now be looked on as an underperforming sacking club who hire and fire on a regular basis.

After Moyes, we have gone through Martinez, caretaker, Koeman, Unsworth, Allardyce (and Silva?) in short time, are likely to be in and around the relegation places for the short to medium term, especially with the upcoming fixtures, with a support who could turn hostile very quickly indeed.

A couple of those have had relative success before coming here and after leaving us, they increased the size of their wallets while here but perhaps would have been better staying away.

Possibly the bigger question is even IF, and it's a big IF, we did somehow attract anyone other then a relegation specialist or rookie newbie manager, then how long before we all want him to go? - possibly six months? - a year? Maybe eighteen months at the outside.

Now or later the managerial chair here seems too good an offer to turn down OR it really doesn't and anyone of any repute won't even look twice at it except to get rich quick.

You can't include caretaker in the list as they aren't employed as manager.

But yes, I also think that the sacking culture will put people off... However at the same time big clubs have that culture anyway as the managers are expected to do their job well.

Oh well, looks like he's in for the next two at the very least so let's get behind him and the team whilst he's still here

Saving his job by beating Liverpool at Snake Mountain would be one heck of a twist in the tale I must say

It’s extremely hard to imagine it, let alone articulate it in a post. So kudos.

Agreed, the huge difference of course being that the likes of Chelsea are a sacking club but perennial winners, bags full of trophies guaranteed every decade, almost one every year - go there and get rich while winning something and enhancing your job prospects elsewhere.

(Tbf you could point to Man United and their problems since SIr Alex left)

We are a sacking club who won the FA cup 24 years ago.

All clubs are sacking clubs when things are going bad.

And so they should be..

Chelsea, United, Leicester and others have had as many or more managerial changes as us since Moyes left here.

So did the RS in the three or four years between Rafael and Klopp.

Ditto City before Pep ( and they weren’t even unsuccessful)

Managers know they will be sacked if they don’t produce the goods, it goes with the territory and the massive compensation....fans expect managers to be sacked if things are not going well.

So IMO there is nowt extraordinary or no stigma attached to a club which quickly recognises its manager’s shortcomings and cuts its losses before an incumbent underperformer does anymore damage.

I think we all now realise he is here for the next 7 days. We've two massive games. All we can do is support the team from the stands and somehow get something from both the matches. Its not the away games I fear for him, if he's still here against Chelsea on the Saturday and we've taken 0-1 points in the two games Goodison is going to be horrible and I think its cruel on him to put him back there

I completely supported him till about Sheffield Utd at home this year. The more I think about it, he should have gone straight after Millwall.
What I hate the most about what we’ve become is the fact teams think Goodison is a joke now. Teams like Norwich and Sheffield Utd come to Goodison thinking they can win and they do. I could just about deal with the away record if Goodison was still a fortress but it’s not, it’s a joke.
