2019/20 Marco Silva

He shouldve been sacked as a statement that the board won't put up with these results and performances. It is ideal to have a replacement obviously, but would Unsworth do worse than Silva in the next 2/3 games?

He's a dead man walking, hardly inspiring for the weak minded team of ours is it to know the manager is getting sacked in a few games

I think Unsworth should be given the games and avoid some of the fallout that's certain to happen. The atmosphere will be horrible, the manager won't care as everybody knows he's gone, the players will lack motivation. It's all horrible.

It's going to be awful over the next week.

Just translate it to our own workplaces.

In my experience it was very hard to get motivated when I knew my line manager had lost his way and he was soon to be removed.

I imagine football players are no less demotivated when the manager is a dead man walking.

Exactly. They will be waiting for the new man to come in to impress. It's just a shambles

I agree. We all know we are likely to get beat at the RS, but it could be a hammering if they get an early goal. If we lose 4 or 5 nil, the crowd will be out for blood and it won't just be directed at Silva either

Guessing Brands is thinking, with 2 really hard and tough away games against the top 2 better to let Silva manage them and the sack him and give the new manager a home game to start off.. as we are mostly likely to lose both even with a new manager
Who is he trying to cheat?

I personally believe Unsworth would have been the wrong choice and after what happened 18 months ago I think the board know this as well. They obviously don't trust him to do the job again.

We've had a relatively easy start to the season. We should be in 5th not looking up at 5th.
For playing one top team? And lost to Sheff Utd and Norwich at home. Some people deserve 11th.

Think you've missed the point. I'm not justifying our position just pointing how strange a season it has been so far for the majority of the teams, hence how tight the table is.

Anyway, we've played Wolves, Spurs and City at home - all teams who finished above us and beat us in the respective fixtures last season, so its more than one top team. We've also taken 4 more points than we did in them fixtures this season.

At the start of the season, If someone would have offered me 5 points off 5th and the Quarters of the cup going in Christmas, I would taken it...funny old game really isn't it.
5 points off fifth is very different to actually being fifth. Especially with the easiest start I’ve ever seen us have.
