I can understand that thinking.

However, what would it say about Everton if we turned to a man who called us a small club? For me, that'd only be surpassed by relegation in terms of humiliation.
He wasn’t wrong when he called us it, was he?

We’ve won one trophy in 33 years and only finished in the top 4 once in that time.

I hope there's no animosity towards Silva, he seems like an alright fella. He's just not a great manager. But then, who would be for this utter trainwreck of a football club?

Keeping things strictly on the pitch... On the one hand, I think we've got a decent squad of players that just needs managing better, and on the other our midfielders are dropping like flies and you're left with Tom Davies and Sigurdsson occupying roles they normally wouldn't.

Up at board level, in hindsight, Silva probably shouldn't have got the job in the first place. Especially when they knew Allardyce was a short term thing. They had six months to find the next man, appointed someone who was once flavour of the month but had since got sacked, and two years on we're in the same place - probably actually worse off, such is their reluctance to sack him.

It all ends with a Davey Moyes rescue mission and three (maybe even six) years utterly wasted.

Yes every substitution he doesn’t make is unlucky. Every team selection that’s made zero sense has been unlucky. The way he’s been unable to get us back into games has been incredibly unlucky. The bloke genuinely isn’t a football manager, that’s his problem.
I think he changed shape when we went level. He did the right thing. You cant legislate for Davies doing what he did twice.
