2019/20 Marco Silva

It'd be typical of us to beat Liverpool at Anfield in a season where they win the league and we get relegated and it would ultimately count for nothing.
Winning at Anfield in the league after so long would truly be amazing. It would instantly among some fans make Marco Silva a hero/Legend, but it would be a freak result nothing else. He a very poor manager, any positive result there would just be a fluke. But more than likely he will depart after a 4-0 beating, with him moaning about he was unlucky because we had an early goal chalked off by VAR.

I admire optimism in these turgid times however I can’t believe people think we even have a slight chance of a win at Analfield later tonight. I don’t think people realise how far up shyte creek we really are. I fully expect us to get a hiding tonight.
Living in denial they are...

They're unbeaten for nearly 3 years at home so our form doesnt really matter after all.

If this derby was a boxing match the towel would have been thrown in a long time ago. But that’s not how it works so we are set to take brain damaging punishment for eternity.

It´s the same way people start convincing themselves they´re going to win the lottery. If we seriously ride our luck, we might escape with a draw. It´ll be an absolute onslaught though.

So what happens if the unthinkable happens tomorrow and we win? He carries on obviously, and is then hailed as the messiah for the homecoming against Chelsea.......and we lose? So is he toast even if we get something from the next two games? I’m confused.

If we win we can write next season off aswell as this. A heavy price but so sad that it actually is a tempting offer.

It’s just unbelievable that he is still managing this club, getting 1 point per game after these fixtures, sitting in the 17th place. And he had spent a few quid.

....none of us know what’s going on inside the club, Silva will point to injuries to Gbamin and Gomes, the failure to bring in a Zouma-like replacement and the failure of Kean to make an impact.

The Board probably remember the Unsworth debacle and might not see an effective ‘caretaker’ within the club. They would prefer Silva to turn things around whilst debating and sounding out a replacement.

Personally, I’d like to see him a bit more passionate about games. I’d like to see him complain about decisions and argue with the opposition manager rather than have the same demeanour as Michael Keane.

It's Sandro syndrome.

I've made no bones about the fact that I'd never seen Kean play before he came, but everyone told me he was amazing, 'one of the best talents in the world' so I was happy with the signing. Same as I was with Sandro. I did say that we might be asking a lot for an untried 19 year old to be our only real improvement in an attacking sense, but I was happy to take it at face value and believe he would be great. When he's played, he hasn't been. Like Sandro. But everyone keeps saying it's just the tactics/manager/other players. Like Sandro.

I'm not saying Kean will be a flop like he was, but all this talk of him being held back and ruined and deserving more chances is exactly what we heard about Sandro. And it was wrong. Very wrong.

If this report is true then the suggestion is that the board (Brands I assume) accepts that actually Kean isn't ready to be our main striker, and we may have expected too much of him. If that's the case, how can we complain about him being on the bench?

Whils somewhat sharing your concerns over Kean and the Sandro comparison resonates with me, I have to say that what littleI have seen of the Italian lid, he looks an altogether better player than Sandro ever did here so I for one have faith he will come good for us.
