2019/20 Marco Silva

I have sympathy for Silva. He highlighted a weakness in midfield especially after Guete left. We spent almost £60m on our midfield with all three permanent signings injured- Gomes, Gbamin and Delph. He desperately wanted Zouma or a.n.other centre half which we didnt get and we still needed an experienced centre forward.

Although in saying that good coaches find a way with what they have, we havent found it and we need to look at other options. Im terrified who they might bring in though....!

Think with Moshiri coming up to Liverpool Silva is gone today
Funny thing for me is that this team isn't as bad as I thought.
The last two games they have been ok. Defence was terrible last night. Keane is slow and doesn't have a football brain.
But we do have some decent players in the team.
Lacking a goal scorer but I do think Kean will do ok. I think Iwobi makes things happen.
Lacking a midfielder who will put himself about. Shaming to see Robertson and ATT bullying our players so much and most of them accepting it
New manager in. Get a bit of Steele in the side hopefully things will change. I live in hope.

Moshiri is hardly travelling to Liverpool to tell Marco Silva that he isn't being sacked. I think it is inevitable that the manager will leave today.

The glimmer of hope I have about our next manager has been how successful the club has been at limiting information to the media at just about everything including transfers.
I am hoping, but not confident, the Moyes stories are based on nothing more than guesses from the media.
I think the club may also have learned from the last costly mistake when chasing Silva while he was still at Watford.

I think the first requirement for the next manager is that he has won something worthwhile on more than one occasion in his career.

It is probably like this atm: All agreed to sack Silva, but Moshiri wanted to bring Moyes in. Brands protested and vetoed that move. Now he is trying to convince rest of the board to keep Silva in charge TILL they get someone they all agree to lead the club. Internal fight happening as we speak.

Perhaps you missed this bit:

"Everton are not holding a board meeting to decide Silva’s future but talks will take place this morning."

That is because the decision has already been made in their opinion. Perhaps you missed the sentence directly after it were it says they are having a conference call to discuss it all.

"There is expected to be a conference call involving majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri – who did not attend Wednesday’s Merseyside derby defeat away to Liverpool – chairman Bill Kenright, chief executive Denise Barrett-Baxendale and director of football Marcel Brands. Former Everton manager David Moyes is the most likely appointment to succeed Silva with one of his former players, Tim Cahill, returning as his assistant."

And the sentence a little further down:

"Silva is understood to be resigned to his fate, should he be sacked today, following the 5-2 defeat at Anfield which dropped Everton into the relegation places."

Like i said, nowhere in that article does it say that Silva is set to keep his job.

Moyes would be 100% Kenwright.
