He starts with players like that because that Jug Headed tit sold his best DM.

nope, he shoehorns Siggurdsson into his team and changes his preferred system because he’s scared of upsetting the star man

‘Sake, he started Theo Walcott today. A man who doesn’t work with Coleman and exposes our right hand side all against the most attacking team in the league

Yes I agree, but that’s because city play and you’ll always get chances against them.

but getting 6th-4th his based on beating the dire teams and he simply can’t setup against them. It’s proven last year and this, no change in formation, no proactive substitutes. It’s all like for like in the hope that new personnel change the outcome, when it’s the system that’s failing

it’s those last things that matter, the smaller details
It isn't a simple fix though, I'm sure it frustrates him too. Lpool struggled to break down Sheff Utd today. I hear a lot of shouts for 433 as if that would somehow break down 2 banks of 4 better and drop Siggy etc, I don't know how. I'd like to see 442 get a chance against those teams from the start but that might be a disaster too. In the end 7 games in to 2nd season is too soon to sack him. Doesn't matter who we get in, there'll be some issues. I'm sure he's analysing these things and thinking about switching it about

Bottom line is that he's a good manager with decent players.

I expect them to settle in the same way as they did last season.

Unfortunately we have these slow starts because of the summer transfer strategy of the DoF.

...and now we wont see him until next summer, because he doesn't do January windows...just asks the manger to fix the mess he created.

I’d rather have this lot in our dug out tbh

7 games, 2 wins, 4 defeats, 1 draw, 7 points, goals for 6, goals against 12. 4 Defeats in our last 5 games, defeats to Villa, Bournemouth, Sheff Utd, absolutely Atrocious start.
Only seven in but we look below average and starving in front of goal. I can't see us turning this around to meet top seven aspirations. We look lazy and sickly. I feel sorry for Silva now.

we are struggling defensively because we have lost 2 proven defenders in Jags and Zouma since last season, Holgate not that impressive. We have also lost one of the best defensive midfielders in Gana. It'll settle in time and I reckon Brands will have to bite the bullet and go shopping in January for a CB at least. If we are 15th at the end of the season I'd agree with Silva out but not yet. What are the yardsticks you measure Silva by? We haven't won in 25 years and that cup win was a dogged win. we weren't great since the 80s. Moyes was solid towards the end in fairness, Martinez had one good season as did Koeman, decent anyway. The point I'm making is, again, who do you get in? It isn't that simple

Listen.

You see right now?

I would happily take 15th place.

We are sleepwalking our way into a relegation battle and quite frankly I don’t think this bunch of misfits have the bottle to win it.

Do you fancy our chances agains Burnley next week?

I don’t.
