Still think Silva's grand. Football hasn't been as bad as people make out - yes need to improve bit it's not a crisis situation. We've been a bit unlucky as well - didn't someone quote that before the city game we had the third least shots on target against us on the league.

Without gbamin/gomes midfield is compromised a bit as well.

I'm just glad that whole season of transition last year wasn't wasted.

Now that we have set that precedent, I Look forward to the new manager also getting a full season no matter what just to transition.

...I just can’t see it. Moshiri won’t want the upheaval and he seems to be ‘on the same page’ as Brands.

I’m not a Silva fan but regardless, I wouldn’t be in a rush to get rid.

Mate this is his second season he is meant to deliver. How we can accept a 11th finish? If he can’t do his job he simply has to go. A failure to finish 7th is horrendous.

...unless Brands doesn’t rate him, I really doubt a mediocre season will enforce change.

Last season was mediocre. If we manage to get worse there is no ground to retain him unless the board accept that. Moshiri did say 10th-11th is unacceptable earlier in the year.

Will be the first team in history to have spent close to half a billion on players in 4 years and get relegated.

Even Big Dunc couldn't relegate this side.

We aren't going down.

But suggesting we should only sack if things get even worse is mental. Less than a point a game is relegation form. Why would we wait till we are in that much trouble. It would really speak volumes about the club's priorities...

I think it about the fact we give him time as we are in a habit if sacking managers al the time.

....on the plus side; he lost Zouma and a replacement hasn’t been found so he’s having to make-do with a ponderous central defence; Gbamin could be his key player, not a like-for-like replacement for Gueye, but a powerhouse midfield runner that might give us a new dimension; Gomes has been injured; we are still lacking a quality striker, Kean has not made the immediate impact Silva will have hoped for; it will take time for Kean, Iwobi and Gbamin to get up to speed; we’re still in the League Cup.

...on the negative side; regardless of who he has available, a good coach sets his team up tactically so they are at least difficult to break down; the fixture list has been kind, yet the team has suffered defeats against teams who will struggle this season; he hasn’t been able to change the course of games; the team appear to lack desire at times; away form is particularly poor.

Yeah that’s true, and also some the goals we have conceded have been poor player mistakes.
