What I can't understand and this goes back to the mentality of the players, manager and club. Is how we are so dire away from home every single season regardless??It speaks to a weak gutless mentality and no leadership from top to bottom. Palace do better than us away from home. Palace.

If we were ambitious enough, you could add Benitez, Deschamps, Howe, Mancini, Arteta, Bielsa or Tuchel to that.

You know I agree with you here, but just look at it that way. Whatever way this turns out, it's mediocre and a failure.

And there is no way we are in a good enough position to attract an elite manager.

It's better to admit mistakes early and try to salvage the situation rather than to just carry on as normal and bury our heads.

It's better to try and fail than to not bother trying anything in the first place. I just think we are far too accepting of failure. We rarely try anything different. We allow people far too long, even when it's blatantly clear we're past the point of no return.

Yeah the next manager might flop too. But we have a man in place now who's job is to find specific on field solutions. What's to say we won't improve?

Mediocrity is way better than championship oblivion...
 
I have said it before but we need a big personality in the dug-out.

The last time I felt rejuvenated was when Royle got the job in '94 and Moyes immediately struck a chord also with his "People's Club" comments.

No doubt it's a tough job but the whole club and players need rallying now.

Some intellectual student of the game is fine but we badly need leadership and even a bit of charisma.
 

Can't even give him another game imo. This is the perfect time to sack him. Easiest fixtures so far and we're in the bottom 3. We must also remember that this is a down year from the usual top 6 and will be the best chance of finishing top 4 for a long time. Get him out now please. He's lost.
