Managers will always be judged on results ultimately. We’ll smash Watford all over the place on Tuesday. I didn’t see a lot wrong with how we played yesterday, there was some great performances most notably sidibe who should stay in the team for me now. We bossed Brighton, came from behind and you can try and say his changes didn’t work but they did. That pen decision is what killed us, just a shame it feeds in to some people’s narratives.
There’s plenty of things to moan about this season but yesterday’s performance shouldn’t really be one.
Marco Silva certainly still seems to have the players on his side and seems to have found a formation that has the team playing much better football even though it could be argued he was pushed into it with injuries and suspension.
I just think that he is a manager who will always get a run of bad results followed by a run of good results.. I don't think he will ever be able to get the team doing well enough consistently over a full season to challenge for a top six spot, never mind a top four spot.
Like many others before him I think he may be a better coach than he is a manager. I think he may be a top coach but a mid table manager.
