Looking back, yesterday was just deja vu. We´d have all decried Moyes for it but with the way that game was in the last 5 minutes we should have been shutting up shop and taking a point. Instead we were pouring forward with kamikaze style football. It works if you´re one of the top teams because you back yourself to pin the opposition back but we are really pour at retaining possession in the final third. As soon as it breaks down, the opposition are all in with a chance of scoring.

As a manager Silva has got to be making sure things like that don´t happen. I don´t feel like he shows anywhere near nous or flexibility in his thinking.

Maybe the goals are not down to him but bringing siggy on was not shutting the game down at 2 v 1 is down to him.We are an absolute mess and it needs sorting now, this fella is worse than Allardyce.

one of his most stubborn problems is in how he makes sub decisions.

Putting Gylfi on for Bernard, instead of say, Kean, which would have preserved our midfield was one.
Taking Davies out for Delph, when it should have been for Gomes, was another.

So now you have a mess of a formation and are down a man thanks to Gylfi playing tiddlywinks somewhere off to the right, and Brighton exposed that now mess of a midfield badly for the final 30'. It directly led to the final OG, because the last person you want "hustling" back to cover Sidibe is Andre Gomes

Don't make those mistakes and we don't lose the game.

His set up away from home is shocking in general.

If he went to a 3 man midfield, made us tighter and stronger, we get out with a point and boost confidence. Confidence you then build on.

He didnt. He still has the mentality of playing the same way home and away. Hasn't worked. Hasn't changed it.

This is very true as well. The Delph sub was baffling. When you look at our away games, they´ve all been well in the balance. Silva´s decisions could´ve directly impacted them for the better but instead the opposite has ended up happening.

Sorry, Dan.....we lost a lot of points through late goals depite Moyes “shutting up shop”.

Games at Fulham, Reading and Norwich spring to mind.

Taking attackers off to be replace£ by defenders and inviting teams on to us.

He plays away games like we´re Manchester City. All I can think is that he really overrates our squad of players. As you say, get out of these games with a point and give the team something to build on. As a team, we must be the worst in the league for digging in and grinding out a result. It´s a terrible trait and probably why our away record is so poor.

I know and it's infuriating. The only thing I'd say is that the Delph replacement would have been a smart one IMO if our midfield had been left intact (aka no Gylfi), and had he come on for Gomes, who was clearly awful. Now in the actual unfolding of the match, it wasn't a smart sub at all. But that's because it was compounded by the original, terrible first sub

You´ve picked out 3 games over a 10 year period. Of course there were times when we shipped points and overall the away record wasn´t great but we were at least difficult to beat most of the time. Right now we are a dream home fixture.
