There is no indication that this current slump (the 2nd lengthy slump of his tenure) is even over yet. Narrowly beating a team that would currently even struggle in league 2 doesn't mean zilch. There were no signs that we are suddenly going to be good from now on and the slump is over. They really should have been proactive and organised weeks ago to replace him at the start of this international break no matter what so as to at least give us a chance for the December run and beyond.

We will be lucky to even get a point in December with this man in charge. Hasn't got a clue what he is doing and is that desperate and arrogantly uncritical of himself that he is putting our poor start and league position down to VAR decisions. Lets just forget about the fact that we have been mostly poor this season and that dodgy ref decisions existed long before VAR was brought in and is a lame excuse for any manager. You have to win games regardless of things going against you, never been any different. Nothing worse than a tit that wont even take responsibility. You wont improve if you dont even acknowledge you need to.

This man is the very definition of mediocrity.

After Burnley :

"The game was balanced and after 55-60 minutes the second yellow made things more difficult on the pitch. From set-pieces they were more brave than us. We have to be more brave. "

After Bournemouth :

"There's a big frustration because we lost the game and gave some things too easily to our opponent," said Silva.
Bournemouth not only won the first ball, they won the second and the third.
We have a lot of work to do - we have to be more clinical, more aggressive and more solid because we cannot concede goals as easily as we did."

After Sheff Utd :

Everton manager Marco Silva, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "It was a tough game for us. Of course we didn't deserve the result but when you make mistakes like we did this afternoon you don't get what you deserve.
For the second goal it should have been easy for our defenders to clear the ball. The second half was bad - not good enough. We need to show more and try new things.
Some individual performances were not at the level we expect, but that's part of the game. The key moment for me was the mistake we made in the first goal."

After Villa :

Everton boss Marco Silva, speaking to BBC Sport: "It is really difficult to see how we can lose this game when we create so many chances to score.

"We started well and controlled the game with some dangerous moments around their box. The first time they went in our box they scored.
We spoke during the week that Villa like to play fast set-pieces and they did that and we switched off. In the first moment it was 1-0.
It is concerning about the goals we didn't score and of course we should score more. Against Palace we created lots of chances to score and didn't and again today."

Doesnt seem to be hiding in those games in which VAR wasnt a factor.

Mostly saying we werent good enough.

I know its boring, but people really want Moyes instead of this fella? Yes the signs arent great and hes shown that he is consistently inconsistent with the results, but the upside is so much bigger than David Moyes.

Just keep winning, keep winning and the shouts to sack will go away, carry on the current form and we are going to be in for a long season with squeaky bums. Not one for hoping for a loss just to sack him though, so we need more consistency.

I still feel away form is going to continue to be very poor and a win at St Mary's where Leicester potted 9, won't change that concern.

Hes making it up Bry.

Our 'current slump' has seen us win 3, draw 1 and lose 1 of our last 5 games. The only loss coming after a frankly outrageous refereeing decision cost us the lead with 10 minutes to play.

Your post is the very definition of ridiculous.

Yes MG, but as manager, when those whom one manages repeatedly underperform, then it points to the manager as not doing the job.

To keep saying one's own team's performance wasn't good enough is ridiculous. He must change this poor performance or admit he is not up to the job.

As for Moyes ...no.

I suppose it seems like im defending him.

Im not defending his record or his managerial ability which has so far been found wanting.

Im just attempting to stop the misinformation, people have so many other reasons to attack this man with, im just not sure why they resort to lies and untruths.

We beat a west ham side getting thumped by everyone. We beat a watford second string in the cup. We drew with a side who havent won an away game in the league this season and we beat a souhampton side who have won a home game this season.
Im not sure who you're trying to kid. Yourself or other Evertonians.

In the last 10 league games it is W3 D1 L6.

Let's see where we are at Christmas- 6 league matches. Away to Leicester, RS, and Man U, and at home to Norwich, Chelsea and Arsenal.

I am not filled with confidence and I am normally optimistic by nature.

I was of course referring to his most recent comments where he is putting it all down to VAR now. That is what happens when you have been poor and under pressure. Anything to make it someone else's fault.

And as regards Moyes, there is zero proof that he would even be considered as a replacement other than blindly believing what people are writing on the interwebs.

I'm not trying to kid anyone. I'm not saying Silva's a great manager, just that we can't really be said to be in a slump right at this moment. You can only beat what's in front of you and we have in recent weeks. It's just a fact.

So we were in a slump and now we're not. Great. Perhaps you could point out where that contradicts what I said?
