Our 'current slump' has seen us win 3, draw 1 and lose 1 of our last 5 games. The only loss coming after a frankly outrageous refereeing decision cost us the lead with 10 minutes to play.

Your post is the very definition of ridiculous.

Nope dont be ridiculous. Our current slump is played 12, won 4, lost 6, drew 2, scored 13, conceded 18, GD of -5 and only played 1 top 6 team.

But feel free to cherry pick it so it doesn't sound as bad. Mustn't be critical of Everton or their cack manager because we have just won a game.

I was of course referring to his most recent comments where he is putting it all down to VAR now. That is what happens when you have been poor and under pressure. Anything to make it someone else's fault.

And as regards Moyes, there is zero proof that he would even be considered as a replacement other than blindly believing what people are writing on the interwebs.

The people we are believing on the interwebs are people who have a pretty stellar record with regards Everton news.

If your gonna believe anybody it really should be Hunter and King, defo not Duncan bloody Castles.

I'm not trying to kid anyone. I'm not saying Silva's a great manager, just that we can't really be said to be in a slump right at this moment. You can only beat what's in front of you and we have in recent weeks. It's just a fact.
So we were in a slump and now we're not. Great. Perhaps you could point out where that contradicts what I said?

Oh that you can only beat whats in front of you doesn't wash. West ham and southampton right now would get turned over by Grimsby. If we couldnt get a few wins in those last few games we seriously may aswell pack it in now. Please dont put it down as our current form is good. Its not.
I hope to God we toughen up in december because we've had our easy run of fixtures.

It's not really cherry picking to look at recent form when deciding whether you're in a slump or not is it? It's literally the only thing you can do.

I've said loads of times, I'm not suggesting Silva is a great manager and will prove everyone wrong, I just don't really see the point in making out things are worse than they are. This isn't, by any reasonable definition, a slump. We were very much in a slump, and I have a nasty feeling we will be again in a month's time. We're not now though. It's fairly straightforward I think.

I am well aware of their records but they are most definitely not 100% accurate all the time, they get things wrong and sometimes just speculate and there is no way has anyone on the Everton board informed mainstream journalists that they are going to sack their manager and that David Moyes could be a replacement. Well i certainly dont believe that anyway.

I get that, I suppose I "want" it to be true cos it 100% validates my own theory.

But honestly mate, no im not saying our only choices are Moyes or Silva, but as I keep saying I cant see past Moyes as the type of manager we would go for if Silva is sacked midseason with the team in trouble.

I hope the slump is over but its too early to be sure of that. We have still been poor for periods in the last few games and lets be honest, we could have been 4 or 5 goals up at half time against Southampton as they were the poorest team i have seen the premier league in recent years.

Anyway, it would be wise to see how the next few games go before declaring the slump is over i think.

Using that logic we might as well just call the last 32 years a slump.

Honestly don't know why people are worried about these December fixtures. Have you not seen the state of Arsenal and Man United this year and the current leaders are well overdue a defeat.

We beat Chelsea and Arsenal at home last year we can do so again.

Ever so slight exaggeration considering we have only played 12 games so far this season and have been poor in practically all of them including the most recent games.

Yeah but you cant slump all season unless you havent won a game, we have won games, winning games takes you out of the slump.

I mean we slump right back down, but hey ho, I mean we have failed to win 2 league games on the bounce all season.

The arsenal who came to Goodison last season were dire. But so are the current team so i am really hoping to put them to the sword. Even though i think they may have a different manager by the time they come to Goodison.
