-came back after Southampton equalizer to win 2-1
if not for that VAR atrocity at Brighton we would have rescued 6 points in 3 games
I curse us out as much as anyone. We lack ruthlessness in finishing, don't do well in taking our chances, can't win away etc etc.
But tbf everything that can go wrong, has, since the start of the season, and we're not dead.
I feel like Silva's pulling it together. The team is showing some fight. Not coincidentally since he's started playing the kids IMO.
I like Silva and we have not got the rub of the green so far. When the injured return and younger players have some games in, we might actually have some depth. Stick with it.

I've been doing this for years. It's so much better looking at my table come the end of May when we have got 114 points and a goal difference of 190. I say goal difference but in reality it is just goals scored as for the 3rd season running we haven't conceded a goal.

It's all good throwing stats about but we've played awful apart from West Ham, Brighton was okay and we murdered Southampton first half, We had to hang on to beat one of the worst teams in the league and looked pathetic against a Watford side who didn't want to win, All these stats are against teams who aren't even that good...We've played one decent team in City. He has turned it around and got results recently and that's what matters but when it comes to the big sides playing like we do against Southampton and Spurs ain't gonna bag us any points.

I agree about Richarlison. He is great when he is on form, but he has an annoying habit of going down, when he could benefit massively by trying to carry on!

Wolves are good and we beat them. We drew Palace and lost to Sheffield Utd but those results don't look as dire as they looked at the time, especially re: the Blades who are the surprise team of the season.
The Villa, Bournemouth, and Burnley games were poor but we could have had some points out of them with a clinical finish here or there, which I guess is the point of that StatsBomb pience.

Stats aren't everything and you can poke holes in them...but as an example we're 6th in the league for most shots taken.
We're also 5th for "chances missed" behind City, RS, Chelsea, United.
If we weren't creating and struggling, I'd be worried more than I am. But we just need to be clinical

Totally agree with you on the kids side. We have a couple more he could do with playing tbh, nice to see (was it) Gordon on the bench last game. We should be building them up and shifting some of the more established deadwood.

But he's right that the result doesn't look as bad isn't he? You said we've only played one good side, so you're discounting Spurs, presumably on the basis that they're having a poor season. But then you're not doing the same in reverse and including sides who are doing better than expected as good sides. The performance against Sheffield United was dire, but the fact they haven't lost an away game yet does mean that the result itself has to be looked at in a slightly different context now.

Does it? Even Wilder said it was the worst they've played and they beat us comfortably beat us 2-0, That result is almost Milwall tier for me. It was embarrassing all around. Sheff United performing better than expected doesn't change it for me.
