2019/20 Marco Silva

Ok so how does a team playing championship football last season and with no away goals since the opening day break us down twice then?

How does Brighton break us down to win? May it have something to do with the manager and his 26 games and counting record of never coming from behind?

It's the manager. The manager sets the team over 90 minutes to do just that. When they struggle to break a team down every week then it's the manager at fault. Richarldson has no trouble breaking teams down for Brazil, iwobi for arsenal, Bernard in the champions league , hell, Kean for juventus.

When teams managed by managers who relegate their clubs because they struggle to break teams down are hired, it's not surprising to see us struggle the same.

I'm all for changing the manager. I'm also convinced if we bring in someone who is good at their job then a lot of this squad will not be hanging around. Do you think the likes of Pochettino would have spent £40m on Iwobi? The squad is filled with players like that. Not good enough for the teams we want to compete with but come to us and get a great contract.

....he seemed to hit on a formula with Iwobi as no10 and Davies providing a bit of energy but he reverted to the ’same old’.

I’m not one for changing manager, but they are not only responsible for tactics, they are are also responsible for attitude. Apart from being tactically inept, everything just seems too ‘nice’. No tempo, no urgency, no desire.

Didn't have a good feeling once the transfer window shut and was wary of the season ahead. Not defending the manager here, personally I was never totally enthusiastic about his appointment, I feel those above him need to look at themselves but highly likely won’t and the players do too and they likely won’t either.

Said it before, things are not right here and haven’t been for a long long time imo way before this “Mosh” as some of you call him came in and after. Far too many cases of one step forward and two or more back and this season has been another one.

A fair point, but iwobi does offer something with chances created when we play on the floor. So when we play out wide and cross it with a load of ball players , you start to see the issue.

The sad thing is , a lot of the squad won't be hanging around anyway because they are wasting their career here. We aren't showing ambition at all even by backing Silva so long. If we aren't sacking him now then a lot of agents will be lining up summer moves for our best players.

But I agree. A lot of money wasted which hinders us
