I can actually see a draw and God knows what happens then!

Totally agree.

I think there's a real reluctancy from Mosh and BK to continue this costly hire and fire merry-go-round so it would take a run of pretty extreme results or a massive section of the fans vociferously turning on him to see him lose his job.

At the minute, we have neither. I don't think he's got the fan pressure to go yet, there's definitely some grumbles but I'm not sure we're as vocal as we'd need to be to get him out. We're patently not doing well enough, but I'm sure they (and MS) would argue that a couple of wins and all of a sudden we're back at the right end of the table. We're doing alright in the cup too (I still believe we'll win that this year FWIW). On such fine margins are jobs lost in Football management.

I get the feeling (whether it's accurate or not, who knows) that the club are focused more on the stadium and are just content with maintaining PL status for the next few years, rather than actually showing the ambition to advance up the league.

In my humble opinion, I expect Marco will do just enough to keep his job and he'll still be here next season.

Will definitely get sacked if we lose tomorrow. There is no way he survives losing or even drawing to a team 3rd from bottom who are definitely worse than us and who were beaten by 9 goals just a couple of weeks ago. In normal circumstances this next match would be a walk in the park and a comfortable win but with this man in charge who knows what can happen. We could lose it especially with our stella away record.

Going to be an interesting weekend this.

I know we have been saying it for over a year now but............. This game is the final straw :drunk: Still rooting for him for something to click in his brain and we dont have to make a change but..........

Just reading the Southampton forum and it’s sad that fans of a team in the bottom three who lost their last home game 9-0 are saying we’re a very winnable game for them. This is the reality of a Marco Silva team.

This has to be his last game in charge now.
And the sad thing is they are correct, any team on a run of bad form would welcome us as their next game.

I also wonder , how many players have psychologically moved on from him already, knowing he is on borrowed time?

i gueess well find out v saints

Very good point. I think there's quite a few fans (myself included) that have either 'psychologically checked out' or are about to.

That being the case, it's fair to assume that would apply to some players too.

People mentioned in the summer the relationship that Brands had with agents, especially the likes of Keans (who came here on the promise of playing time and aren't getting any) - I wonder if there has been any pressure in that sense too?

They had 10 men for most of the game, they gave City a scare too. We should still beat them easy though.

I think LVG still got couple of years in him and he has a point to prove in the premier league. Honestly though we will hire someone like Eddie Howe who is decent but not great.

I rate Hassenhuttl as a manager and they do have some very talented players I'd gladly take here. I think he's had some pretty bad luck with injuries and his team have run into poor form but I still don't see them going down, even after the Leicester game.

They played very well against City and were unfortunate to lose. It's certainly no gimme. Southampton clearly got a rocket up their backside after the Leicester game and they have some favourable fixtures too after this one too so will be looking to put together a good run of form finally.

Make no mistake, it will be a very tough game for us and if we do win, Silva will have done well and will deserve the plaudits for it.

its almost like the gods are aligning with our squad and injuries , that enforce silva to change his complete formation which in turn has gotten us a couple of draws and people thinking its HIM that's changing and learning from past mistakes , when he totally isnt...

the sooner this mess is over with the better

If it's a dour display and heading into the 92nd minute at 0-0, I hope Southampton score a late winner if it increases the likelihood of that loser Silva being given the boot.
