Here's the thing with me at the moment... I don't think it's the right time to sack him, and I actually expect us to come good and finish around 7th.

He won a lot of credit with me with his handling of the Stones situation, and I think he has the right to at least see out December (at the very least) and probably has January to get it right as well, before I'd start thinking about calling for his head proper.

Let's face it, we had the chance to get rid in the summer and we didn't take it, so with that being the case I don't see the point in switching managers now. If we finish any lower that 7th this season, then in the summer we should take stock, get rid early and bring in a man to have a run at the transfer window properly and have the chance to rebuild via the early and inevitable sales of Stones and Lukaku.

Until then, I just don't see the point sorry. It's not like last year, we're in no danger of going down, so there's no urgency.

Stop the ambiguity. Have a simple two options only in the poll....IN or OUT. Let's stop pussyfooting around with this.....an 'I don't know' isn't an opinion, so why is it included in an opinion poll?

Chico redraft and let's get a result on this damn thing.....not that it changes anything.

I remember years ago there was a poll on the radio about sommat of other.

One had to phone in and it was charged at premium rate. It was before widespread internet use so one could not vote online.

Anyway.....they read out the result of the poll and it went something like 55/40 in favour of one option over the other.

With 5% calling in to say "I don't know"........at premium rate.

And I thought "what kind of a plonker would waste even a quid to call the radio and say he or she didn't have an opinion on the topic being polled"

I have just been on the nil satis forum lurking and am very surprised nearly 83% want martinez out in a poll.
It is a site i respect and am glad fans are seeing through him

This is the poll for anyone wondering http://www.nsno.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=49840.0

And woah, 3 vote keep him and 51 vote sack him
A lot were going to revisit their thoughts at christmas after last years mess and yet again we are going backwards.
Some nice footy at times but because the players are so unfit we get walked all over in the 2nd half.
He either can't see it or does nothing to change it and added to that the crazy goalkeeping situation he is failing

To me there is some urgency as I fear another crap season and we won't be able to keep the likes of Rom.

But given that we're still only 6 points off fourth, and that we've got such quality in such form, it feels like we're wasting the season and what might be the last time we have all these players together.

I wouldn't be a fan of a mid season sacking either. Too much for a new manager to come in and change while games are going on.

Won't happen anyway.

You know the world's turning upside down when you start to agree with Tubey, but I do.

Semi final coming up, so, even daft owners would wait till that's finished. If we get to Wembley, no one would sack him now.

If we lose to Citeh, we're nearly at the end of January, which, barring the unlikely threat of relegation, is a poor time to change managers.

So, he has till the end of the season to start getting some results to go with the undoubted improvement in our forward play this season.

Three seasons is long enough to make a judgement on a manager though. The elephant in Roberto's changing room is the possibility ( don't snigger at the back ) of a change in ownership. If that's a real possibility, as opposed to internet talk, then his position is likely to be looked at more closely in the Summer than it will be by our current board.
