The general consensus during last season's prolonged dip was "give Martinez to Christmas and judge him then".

Well it's Christmas and how do you judge him fellow Evertonians?

The old adage the table doesn't lie. Can the manager, or anybody call it progress?

How can the doubters have any doubt?
If Evertonians believe in our proud motto there can't be any.
Change can't come soon enough, at least not for me.

There's more people voting to keep him than fire him at this moment in time like.

Could change in January that I reckon.

That really lays it out bare to see doesn't it? Arbitrarily take away the 2 thumpings of villa and sunderland and even the goal difference then shows no improvement. i sense that because none of the top 4 have gone on a consistent run yet and the fact that RS are so appalling and Chelski haven't turned up yet for this season our lack of progress has gone almost completely unnoticed.

Now I'm no mathematician, well, actually I sort of am, but anyway, we've got more points, in a season where more teams are unexpectedly taking points off other teams.

We're a place higher, with 2 less losses, and our goal difference is better off by 7 goals. Clearly we're better than we were last season.

We're 6 points off 4th, whereas this time last year, we were 10 points off 4th. So, at a moment in time where our manager is in absolutely no danger of being sacked, and top 4 is amazingly still a possibility, can we at least try and be somewhat optimistic?

Oh and by the way, it's worth noting that from this point last year we went on to take just 1 point from the next 4 games, leaving us on 22 points after 21 games. Barring an absolutely abysmal next 4 games we should be much better off this year after 21 games than last year.

Ironically our season could be made or broken over the coming games, sure i read on another thread 7 games in 28 days now, so its time for lennon/osman/mcgeady/piennar (apparently) / besic / gibson/ naismith all to shine and pick us these points up.

Moyes was castigated for unswerving loyalty to his favourites, Martinez seems to have taken such loyalty to another level all together. Howard, Barry and Kone get a shoe in every week, whilst the likes of Mirallas, Besic and Robles are left kicking their heels on the bench. If Martinez does not change, put his stubbornness to one side and become much more reactive then I fear that he will have the fans turning against him.

Barry has been excellent for the whole of this season. Kone has complemented Lukaku very well , although he probably needs a break now. Howard had a poor run of form, due partly to bad defending in front of him, but has been better recently. Besic is unreliable from a temperament point of view,Mirallas is an almost permanent sulk who plays for himself, not the team. Robles has had a few good games and is an OK keeper, but has not done enough to earn the adulation he gets on here, which is baasically anti-Howard rather than pro Robles.

have I? could you prove that I have been constantly lobbying time get McLaren in please? as I remember it, he was linked on here via an article in the daily fail around the time we were doing atrociously (I know that would be hard to distinguish as a time frame due to us only winning 17 of the last 55 games) so please find a few posts or more of mine that would constitute 'lobbying' please. Many thanks in advance.

little bit of a side note mate, as you're a current favorite of mine please listen. Just because dave has started lying and exaggerating part truths to discredit fellow posters, please don't follow. Be your own man, release yourself, breathe, enjoy your own thoughts. Don't let your first thought be to defend dave.

because if you don't these little conversations are going to be over as I'll ignore you and the constant mentions and quoting will be totally wasted on me. other than you'll still get likes from Doug 'you're not a proffesional manage though' sheep. Every cloud and all that.
reply if you think martinez is a fraud it'll be our secret
Night mate x
In fairness mate you would have anybody to replace Martinez, your hate for him is pretty clear to all
