It's kind of funny but if you look at the spiral of when manager lose the plot and get the boot it always includes blaming home fans. They all follow the same path. It must be included in a coaching manual that needs to be re written.

Muppet. Drop your keeper. Tell your center back not to play like a poor number 10 all the time ..There is a time and and place to put his foot through the ball. . Get your "leader " and one of the greatest English players of all time :) to stay back and protect his center defense as he hasn't the pace or legs to get up and back in time when teams are breaking. Sell kone. Buy another decent front man in case lukaku gets a knock. Apply for another position

Roberto Martinez reckons his Everton players play with doubt and fear at Goodison Park and has suggested “we need to make it comfortable for our players”.

Everton have only won three games at home all season, and when asked about their defensive mishaps against Swansea, he replied: “It happens at home more than anywhere else. I don’t think we have that sort of doubt and fear [away from home].

“We’re a team who knows exactly what it is doing. We’ve got really good individuals with fantastic character who care about what they do but our defensive record at home this season is not good enough.

“It doesn’t go along with what we are as a team and doesn’t go along with what we produce away from home. It’s clearly something we need to work on.

“We have six games left at home and they’re vital games for us. We need to make it comfortable for our players. We need to make sure we find a way to perform at Goodison.”

This is the verbal equivalent of Tim Howard sarcastic applause to the crowd.

Sack this clown, sack him tonight. How dare he.

So are we going to blame the fans for the fact we only have 3 away wins (despite having only played arsenal and spurs as the 'big' teams away from home and having played them all at home except arsenal).... Those fans should be ashamed of themselves for the team bottling Norwich/WHam/Bournemouth etc

It's not hard to work out that the fans don't help the players. They should stay away if they can't control their emotions.

Nope - The players should seriously consider their career choice as top flight professional footballers if they can't hack it in front of justifiably upset fans. Non league players can put up with hearing every single individual barb week in, week out. Are we to believe that players who are supposed to be the cream of their profession require constant encouragement to do the basics?

They're supposed to be the best of the best. If they can't perform in front of a demanding crowd then they simply aren't good enough. Full stop.

I don't think he truly believes this ( I think he is trying to defend his players more than anything else). It still was not the way to go about this.
