Imagine if they win the world cup.

@davek

Winning it would be an amazing over-achievement. SFs would be fantastic for Belgium. QFs is an acceptable stage to reach as long as it's ended by a close game against a team like Brazil.

Basically, if Belgium get past Japan as expected Roberto has reached the point where he was supposed to with a squad after one year in charge.

Said it ages ago, as a tournament manager, he is decent.

I backed them to win before it started, Martinez is great at one off games.

Yes above scenarios are all good. The higher the better off course. I suppose he could have lost the game yesterday to make his life a bit easier, but that could have also backfired spectacularly if he ended up losing against Colombia. Colombia, for me, is a good team - especially if they somehow manage to get James Rodriguez back.

Don’t think he will but love him to win it with a Lukaku winner.

The fume from some corners would be incredible.
It would be superb...

... more likely he'll get a late hat trick against Japan when the game's already won and then be in the paper the morning of the Japan game saying how he always wanted to play with Neymar and Paris is a beautiful city, then go missing for 90 minutes

The guys an idiot, he's already alienated de brunye who looked very unhappy, just drop carrusco and play dembele or fellaini and then pus de bruyne foward. With meunier playing he can drop into a midfield 3 or stay right as and when, you could even switch to a back four with those players on the pitch if you wanted. Guarantee he won't change it though, as clueless a manager as I've ever seen, and with all that talent in the Belgium side it's a massive shame

In Bob's defense DeBrunye could possibly be a monstorous douche and making him play farther back might be for the best. If you move him more forward he'll take touches away from Hazard who is a better player, better at getting his talented teammates involved and seems to have something going on w/ Rom. Or you could just send DeBruyne forward and watch him selfishly destroy Belgium's one chance to win a WC by pinging an absurd number of 30 yard shots because he hates the manager.

Nothing personal against England or anything, but i was delighted to see Belgium beat them!Getting to the semi finals, would be a brilliant achievement for Belgium.Like him or loath him, Martinez has done everything asked of him so far.

Possibly, but even the last 35 mins of their second game, they looked much better balanced with felli and witsel in midfield and KDB further forward, the de bruyne/hazard issue aside I can't believe anyone could see witsel as better than dembele, and the other chinese league superstar guaranteed a start carrusco will needlessly be there, we have seen how stubborn martinez is.

I cant abide that lad. Yes, a very good player with the potential to be better than that, but he comes across as a spoilt brat.
