You wha?

England, like Belgium, qualified from probably the easiest group in the competion.

Scotland would have qualified from it

Japan and Brazil was a more difficult path to the semis than Colombia and Sweden.

Plus Belgium beat England (and Roberto played a weakened team as well).

There is no way Southgate has done as “good a job” as Bobby thus far.....and for certain he has not done a “better” one
Yeah they did qualify from an easy group but so did Belgium, Brazil where a difficult game, but Japan come on mate no one before the WC would've had them down as difficult game if England had beat Japan you and Everyone else would say we should be beating teams like them. Scotland they wouldn't have qualified from that group even if 4 teams went through. Belgium did beat England only after Rose decided to take a knee like a scene from Game of Thrones. If one thing this WC is that there are no give me games,

He can get players to play who are professional and want to play.

I dont think there's any doubt that a top club would place their team in his hands gladly.

There isn't too many past Everton managers we can say that about really, is there?

After the best part of 3 seasons why did he have so much trouble instilling professionalism in those he was in charge of? There's now a lot of accusations of short-termism being thrown around regarding Martinez getting the bullet at Everton but is there a chance that he's a very good short-term manager and no more?

You rally have to ask that question with this pile of amateurish and snide gets?

Which pile is that? If you're referring to the players then he had a lot of time to weed out disruptive elements or get them in line. He was also responsible for ensuring that those brought into the club had the right mentality. That's part of a manager's job.

And the failings of subsequent managers is by no means vindication for those who failed before.

He was too nice. I think we all recognise that. He tried to play it diplomatically and the snides weren't having any of it. I think he learned his lesson by kicking Mirallas and Naingollan out of the Belgian squad.

The reason why Kev was not selected was quite obvious. He did not play in the Everton team and was not performed when he was out on loan in Greece.

He was a nuisance and pisstaker who was expendable. Naingollan is also piss taker but, it transpires, expendable also. Lukaku was a pisstaker too, but he's not expendable.

Realpolitik Roberto.

Well the pisstakers you are calling out are pisstakers for years. They were selected since Roberto became the manager, until recently?

He was terrible for us for 2 seasons, worse than even Koeman and Allardyce and that is saying something. He had a great first season off the back of the defensive unit he inherited before he ruined us.

That defence was rubbish before he got there

Oh but clean sheets etc.... no they would always let you down when it mattered.
