You mean grizzled, cynical, observant, less accepting of mob mindset, more questioning? Yes.

I try not to comdemn without first hand evidence. Call it the scientist in me if you like.
Have you listened to the audio tape of him assaulting her?

No foundings have been made in court as to guilt or innocence. As far as I know his partner retracted her complaint and they have since had a child.

Unfortunately this happens in many cases of domestic abuse where a victim will often go back time and again to the abuser until finally it ends, one way or another. The statistics on domestic abuse is pretty horrendous - 1.7m instances of domestic abuse last year.

I've no idea what Utd's thinking is behind bringing him back in but it is, in my opinion, myopic and misguided.

Can't say I have listened to it no. Can't really comment other than the case has been dropped. Maybe they made up. Like I said, I haven't been following the chatter.

Oh ... has social media ruled him guilty then? I had believed that the legal case didn't progress ... meaning he hasn't actually been found guilty of the allegation. That's how things work isn't it?

Can't say I've been following it mind. What I can't change I show little interest in as I grow older.

To be fair mate if you’d heard the audio you wouldn’t be questioning social media being what found him not guilty. I know you don’t care about it but have a listen to it. He forces himself on a girl, the charges being dropped are unfortunately how a lot of rape cases go especially when the accused knows the victim or is in a relationship with them. He’s absolutely vile. He doesn’t need to have been found guilty for United to deem that inappropriate and worthy of sacking him, any sponsors that stand by them if he finds his way back into that team won’t want to be associated with him.

Couldn't agree more he is a bad rat and if he played for Everton I'd be appalled if we let him play again for us.

He will be crucified every game he plays and rightfully so for his actions.

He has made a very very dangerous and stupid mistake but he was a very young man who I feel needs help and this is a huge opportunity to highlight how abuse can be hidden and unspoken.

The argument of "we all make mistakes" is not strong enough argument but it's a minefield which if it wasn't a high profile personally, he would be just simply ignoring and every would move on which sadly happened far too much in these investigations.

I am not making excuses for him but this current toxic masculinity period seems to be the norm. He still has time to be a positive and long effective impact on a truly dark subject matter.

I think of my own sons, and if this was them, I would be horrified and sickening. I couldn't forgive them but I would want them to make amends, reflect and chance.

But how what could someone do to already reverse what has already been done?

Manchester United have been shocking in their total denial, gaslighting of their own Women's teams and frankly it's pathetic but I think sadly is another chapter of the modern game which seems to not care along as the money rolls in.
