Look at gomez at the rs wih vvd has looked hopefully mina is ready to step up, id put him in next season with holgate and hopefully show his potential

I still reckon he is not a centre-back. Not strong enough and weakish in the air but he might be a good right-back.

Quick, can head a ball, and looks like he can now centre a ball. I hope he cracks on at WBA this season and gets a
chance at right back at EFC next season. Why not?

The club has to lash out big money on a centre-forward, midfielder and a central defender so getting Holgate at right-back might
be a big saving.

Seems to have developed a nasty streak. Hopefully that's symptomatic of his determination to succeed and not be a pushover. I reckon he's got a lot of the tools to succeed. Just looked a bit lightweight at times.

Definitely one I’d like to succeed and always seemed to have ability , I certainly wouldn’t be rushing to allow the deal to be permanent. From what I’ve seen of him at Everton The time spent in the more physical championship might be exactly what he needed .

Imo, this lad is a much better footballer than Kenny, who is now apparently first choice over Coleman.
Holgate is terrible going forward or he was before he moved to WBA but better defensively imo.
Kenny is the better attacking RB but shaky defending.

ok, but for me a defender’s job primarily is to defend, and let’s be honest, we need to tighten up massively at the back, just can’t see it happening though.

Historical revisionism at its finest.

Every player who has a half decent spell out on loan or is injured for long term gets the same.

The best bit was when someone on here claimed his passing was superior to all our defenders, despite achieving a 60% passing success rate in some of his games before he went out on loan.

Ideal to have a player that cost us next to nothing who can play in a couple of defensive positions. If it does turn out that right back is where he's best suited but can play in a three, bonus!
