His gum chewing technique is probably the only thing that he can be proud of. Waste of a shirt.

Lol , he not done that since Fulham game last season, his Mom must have told him off, I noticed Townsend is the gum chewer now but he don't slap his chops up and down like Holgate did. ?His gum chewing technique is probably the only thing that he can be proud of. Waste of a shirt.
I think he does have pace but hes not anticipating where the danger is quick enough.Positioning wise, absolutely woeful.
Watched him closely in the second half, and he doesn't look like he's got a footballers brain.
Frightening. I'm sure he used to have pace too. Not really sure what's happened there.
Pretty much sums up everything that has been wrong with this club for the last 5 or 6 years !He got over 3 years left on 64 grand a week, he not gonna drop to 20 grand a week in Championship
….amazing if he came out of that game without a booking. A couple of fouls he gave away were an embarrassing reflection of his inability to cope. He’s very lucky to be an ordinary footballer at this point in time.
You say that, flip side is Keane is playing next to two players who have no positional sense, go wandering, switch off and lose runners and can’t head the ball. Add to that a midfield that is wide open and constantly lets other team break through midfield running directly at the back line. Must be a nightmare. It’s hardly the conditions to be nursing through a young centre back partner - constant fire fighting. Will only ever be a second choice right back imho
Do feel sorry for him and Ben Godfrey though. As a young aspiring centre back you really need a quality, seasoned pro to boss you about, tell you where to be, keep you on your toes. But they've got Mikky Keane most of the time.
