The thing is they could pay 20mil for Holgate late in the window as a last resort. And if they survive. They probably wouldn’t be bothered selling him on at loss as they go and buy a 50mil CB in the summer

They are nothing alike, Stones was a ball playing centre back, Holgate is atrocious on the ball but thinks he’s Beckenbauer. Only thing they have in common is being from Barnsley.

I really like Holgate but he has absolutely stagnated here. He was the best defender we had 2 years ago, then that malarkey with Liverpool happened and he has never kicked on. I think a change of scenery would def do him well and we would help us as well too.
The Firmino shove was January 2018, he won player of the season in 2019/20. I just don’t think he’s ever been as good as we wanted him to be.
