This. To be fair I totally ignore anyone who thinks kenny and holgate are players with premiership ability.I'm not going to tag people because i'm not intending to call them out but in the 2 pages before the game last night there were all these posts by different people:
"Much better than Keane. Shouldn't even be in the same sentence with him."
"He’s always played better when he gets a run of games in the middle. Soon as we take him in and out or play him full-back he falls apart."
"Godfrey, Holgate, Branthwaite + One senior new CB is not a bad team of 4 central defenders.
Holgate is good enough I think for this."
"His form has been revitalized under Frank, think there's a decent defender there."
"perhaps Frank and his coaching staff, are the ones to unlock his potential."
It does seem that people often just ignore his actual ability levels. He isn't big or strong and he isn't particularly quick. That's an issue for a PL centre half but you can get past it if you have very good positional sense and decision making skills. Unfortunately they are the weakest parts of his game. Kenny is the same, people clamouring for him to be given a new contract on the back of a couple of decent games and just ignoring the fact that he isn't magically going to improve his speed, strength or ability on the ball at the age of 25.
That can’t play together but both would look ok besides Mina. Which doesn’t solve anything because he’s a crockThis. To be fair I totally ignore anyone who thinks kenny and holgate are players with premiership ability.
He played ok 1st half but he struggled as did the team when we went a goal down. Far better with Godfrey than he was with keaneHe looks terrified in possession, not good at defending or heading, doesn't track runners and makes reckless tackles. Then makes out as if he is boss. Get rid
Apart from giving Conor Bloody Cody the freedom of the park without him even moving.Him and Godfrey looked more organised than him and Keane have ever looked. I know that’s not the long term answer but football is about blends and they made a couple of positional mistakes but were better than Holgate and keane will ever be.
Sorry mate from where I was sat I couldn’t see who tried was marking Coady. but we should have cut the cross out. I thought it was Godfrey and it was a good delivery, but no excuses.Apart from giving Conor Bloody Cody the freedom of the park without him even moving.
I replied as a pair tbh.Sorry mate from where I was sat I couldn’t see who tried was marking Coady. but we should have cut the cross out. I thought it was Godfrey and it was a good delivery, but no excuses.
I’ve said for a while I think Branthwaite should be 1st choice but he will make a mistake a game but he’s not afraid to play a ball to break the lines and we lacked that today.Just read his interview comments about maintaining consistency
Well at least that's one thing they succeeded with this season. Consistently embarassing the supporters.
it’s ok mate I know how your feeling. I always try to think of a solution but I felt empty today after that.I replied as a pair tbh.
"EVERTON"Cheeky bleeder...." It is what it is" - the start of his Sky quote. It certainly is. Do something about it with yer mates...its embarrassing, shameful... and a towel thrown in by you and your teammates. We deserve better. What's our name ?
