He has confidence, aggression and never shy's away even in the toughest of times. Yep, maybe he makes the odd mistake, but not as many as Keane and he's infinitely more dependable the Mina as he's rarely injured. We need a strong squad to compete - mason should be in and around the starting 11 until we have brought in better. At the minute he should be a starter every week. For what it's worth his weaker games have been alongside Keane, primarily because Keane is a confidence player who is rarely confident and easily rattled.
Top performances the last two weeks and it's obvious Frank recognises that he's strong mentally.

Let's be honest. Holgate along with 6 or 7 others need to leave this club. Have we all forgotten just how poor they have been. They are a significant reason why we are where we are. I cannot believe that so many fans are talking them up so much after one or two good games. They are not even squad players. Rest assured if they stay at the club the same people now talking them up will once again be slamming them in January as everton wallow in mid table. Get rid. End of.
I really rated him before Ancelotti and thought he’d turn into a quality CB but I feel like he’s not suited to the ‘sit back’ football that Ancelotti resorted to and Benitez played after him.
Under Frank he’s looked really good and back to putting in performances we saw a while ago.

He's OK at Frank's current survival type football which I doubt Frank will keep with next season unless its a struggle again. Holgate thinks he is best at playing out from the back defender but he not got the footballing brain for that as he makes too many mistakes and panics so keeps passing back, to me he more of a traditional CH which is why he more suited to Championship.
He played well on Sunday but like the rest of the back four that either started or finished the game on Sunday, bar Mykolenko all should not be starting an Everton match next season.
