Maybe its just that Corberan is a good coach with a good team behind him and they have finally managed to get a tune out of him. There was always something in there tbf.
Or… maybe it’s because he’s playing in the Championship?

The last time Holgate was with us he would have been lucky to play for an SPL team, the top teams in the Championship actually try and play proper football, maybe he has just found his level but looked petrified of the pitch the last time he pulled on a blue shirt I know that, just didn't know what he was doing.Or… maybe it’s because he’s playing in the Championship?

He not chosen him to play and he only came on Saturday because two defenders went off injured. He more or less said in an interview last week that Holgate was someone else's choice at the club. Maybe he got no choice but to play him now.Maybe its just that Corberan is a good coach with a good team behind him and they have finally managed to get a tune out of him. We all did, mate. We all did.Not going to lie, I had high hopes for Mason Holgate when he signed for us. Would like to see him settled in at a club and enjoying his football, if I'm honest.
Our defence has been sound all season but picked up 3 injuries last week so he getting his full debut. We all did, mate. We all did.
Right now, I'm just hoping he gets through the 90 minutes without embarrassing himself, and for @Littlesue's sake, not costing WBA 3 points.
It's his first match tonight and I really hope he plays well, Sue.Our defence has been sound all season but picked up 3 injuries last week so he getting his full debut.

At the end of last season, when we loaned him to Sheffield United, hoping we could con them into taking him completely off our hands, they couldn't wait to get shut of him that they literally had an Uber waiting outside their stadium on the last day of the season to send him back to us.
When we first signed him, and for the briefest amount of time, he looked a player with some potential. But he flattered to deceive, unfortunately.….big difference now is he’s playing for his football future, no circa £70k per week, no circa £300k pcm. We know he can probably afford to retire but it’ll matter that he wants a deal somewhere.
He’ll be available on a ‘free’, he’ll have his demands but they’ll clearly be considerably lower. I’ve never rated him but I will say that when it matters he usually earns himself a deal, it happened when he last came back from the Baggies and we failed to secure a CB on the last day of the window. He grasped that opportunity and has earned himself a fortune.
