Feel a bit sorry for the lad really. Under normal circumstances, we'd welcome the lad and wish him luck and that'd be that. Under the circumstances we have at the moment, there's an element of... being annoyed that it's him joining when we clearly need more established players in as soon as possible.

I agree mate. We need a well established centre back to compete with jags / stones or as injury cover. I'm sure we'll get someone before the end of the window. I like the sound of Holgate though, buying for the future.

The transfer fee is negligible. There is a considerable difference between signing a youth player for £2m and paying him very little in wages and signing an established player for £2m or more and paying them tens of thousands of pounds per week. It is not a case of one or the other.

The only reason anyone could have for being annoyed is if this instead of a more established player, which it isn't. There has to be an experienced CB coming in even if Stones doesn't leave.
