Right then I'll weigh in with my two penerth worth, first of all remember assessing these lads on what I've seen of them in a BFC shirt, and my opinions on what they can go on to achieve are just that my options based on what I've seen of them a limited number of times. To become a top class footballer, you need much more then ability in my opinion, with out drive, determination, the right attitude and mentality, footballing ability is useless, At a young age John Stones had the lot and was clear he'd get to the very top very quickly even from a young age, Holgate on the over hand as the footballing abilities to get to the very top of that I'm in no doubt, and if he can develop on the other qualities needed then he can be the next stones no doubt about it, I'm not saying he doesn't have them qualities, just that they're not that apparent at this time, only time will tell. As for Holgate on the pitch, I've seen all his first team games for us, and over 10 youth team games and can only judge him on that level of opponent, he's definitely going to be a centre back 100%, his reading of the game, positioning, timing, composer, tacking, and marking are too good for him not to be, At youth level our club encourage players to play the ball, be comfortable with it and allow them to make mistakes, so they can learn from them, we build up from the back, and let the lads bring the ball out and make passes forward, bringing these lads through at left/right back is seen as a fantastic learning curve for them, helping to develop their footballing abilities, and defensive attributes in area where mistakes aren't punished as often, but punished enough for them to learn from, and that's the reason he's played all his first team games at right back.
