Was just about to say the same. Can play football just as good but more importantly can defend far, far better than Stones can now.

Most impressive part for me was early on. He won a header, flicked it away and without missing a beat pressed and won the second ball.

To have that awareness at his age at this level is ridiculous.

And he is why I dont think they need cover for Coleman. Not only was he great again covering back, but he was good going forward.

Inside a minute or two near the end he made a giant leap to win a header deep in defence and then was up the other end making a mazy dribble. Another top performance.

He's impressed me this lad. Come in as cover for Coleman and hasn't really put a foot wrong (maybe some blame for the Spurs goal).

Has definitely softened the blow of losing Stones!

Seem to recall some Barnsley fans saying that they felt Holgate was better than Stines at the same stage of development.

Very promising start to his first team career with us, hopefully he progresses as expected.
