....if Stones doesn't leave I really see our priorities elsewhere. I'm very nervous about our lack of options up front. All clubs have a number of conventional, quality forwards they can turn to, we don't. A creative midfielder is also a real requirement.

To be honest I'm a fan of us buying young talent. So I'm happy with the latest signing. Building for the future. Evans and Lennon will be next.

Basically. Like I said I was merely thinking out aloud. But two promising CBs from same club...Holgate isnt actually what you would think we need right now ?

No, not what we need right know, but if he turns out half way decent then he'll either crack on into the first team or we'll sell him down the line for a reasonable profit.

....it does happen. Sometimes a club do produce players in the same position that go on to success. I think Chesterfield brought a number of goalkeepers through in the 60s/70s.

So this could be seen as our thing from tactical point of view...strategically wise move id say. One of the only areas we could very well be known.

It's true our options upfront aren't great but I don't agree all clubs have a number of options.

United have Rooney and er Hernandez, Arsenal Giroud and er Walcott, Chelsea Costa, Falcao and Remi, City, Aguero and Bony, Spurs Kane, Saldado and maybe Adebayor.

It seems strikers are a dying breed in the game at the minute. It's the clubs without a decent first choice striker that tend to have loads. So they can rotate when not in form I guess.

....united had RVP and will bring in a replacement I reckon. You make a fair point about the Gunners but most others are well stocked up front.
