Far better than that £50m player Man City have
Every game he's played he's looked good, he was unlucky to be dropped after the first couple of games as he had played well, he can play football but more importantly as a defender he can actually defend.Would have to judge him in a back 4 and after 10+ games.
But I doubt it.
Stones was is good, but it was the media and being English that bigged him up to being a 50 million player, had he been from elsewhere he would have been a 25 million player, which to be honest should be his value. Good at playing with the ball at his feet but poor at defending. Holgate from what I've seen is much better at defending and at the end of the day that's what you want a defender to do. IMO we haven't missed stones one bit.Every game he's played he's looked good, he was unlucky to be dropped after the first couple of games as he had played well, he can play football but more importantly as a defender he can actually defend.
Didn't think he did too well today in all honesty
Looked shaky at times and Gana was verbally roasting him at one point
I've definitely been more impressed with Pennington
Holgate is probably the better footballing technician, but I think Penno looked much more assured when he got his chance at the end of last season
That being said, I'm fine with Holgate getting more chances but I'm not particularly blown away
Mikeys been hacked.
I call a spade a spade mate, always have done
Holgate wasn't great today, and I'd be dishonest to say otherwise
Like the lad and think he's talented, but I wouldn't mind Browning and Pennington getting chances once they're both fully fit
I get the feeling Browning will be moved on Mikey.
Also im not sure Pennington has much of a chance here either.
My concern with Holgate is his size, Ulloa pulled off him with ease today, he hasnt really been tested in a back 4 either, hes comfortable on the ball and is decent at defending, I see his future as a Right Back currently or as today in a back 3.
