It was a bit tedious and also a bit frustrating that it was in the most obvious sense a friendly, with the second half change of players. The starting line up was
also considerably weaker. It is what it is it's minutes on the pitch. I am a little worried we're not going to be ready for the first game against Fulham we have to step things up. Maybe against Stoke.
 
Everton’s epitaph will be “when nothing changes things remain the same”. Blue Bill can have that tattooed on his a**e for his 100th birthday when he is still Chairman.

We will be, the fitness levels have massively stepped up this summer, past two years we’d have likely lost all 3 games

Ironically the only time I've seen you positive is when a clearly inept manager was managing the club.

We're way more stable now. This is the first pre season game we haven't scored in and we've conceded no goals. We look way way better in terms of fitness and chance creation.

Yes we're poor on goalscorers but we won't be near as bad as last season, in my opinion.

Dyche has absolutely no chance with this level of backing. I know I'm boring and repetitive but I'm proper fuming at our recruitment and the lack of initiative and forward planning. Everyone connected with club knows what we need so why can't the club deliver?

Nothing changed this summer. We didnt get change. And another manager will end up getting sacked if they don't give him what he needs.

We have got Danjuma so that is at least a step up from January's mess. Young could also be another better creative outlet if deployed higher up. Is Dele going to around and of a Dyche type player we'll have to see. If we do get one more forward and that provides enough cover to mean DCL isn't thinking the world rests on his shoulders then we may see his appearances double this season and we know we looked a totally different team when that did happen. They are positives or at least possible positives.

I'm frustrated as the next man by our lack of transfers, but equally if we are limited in funds we cannot just go get the first thing just because it is easy and available. It has to be the right fit, including the personality and overall cost of the deal, else we'll be sat here next year bemoaning our choices.
