Pretty much what I expected from this England side if I'm honest. Not that I wasn't both scared we'd get overrun and hoping we'd tear them apart on the break, but that was the result I predicted.

Johnson and Cole both had surprisingly good games, it must be said. And I could have scored the chance Milner missed. And while the ref wasn't as bad, or as biased, as the commentators made out, he did get a fair few calls wrong. But yeah, not bad that.

Now all we need is a draw against Sweden and we're all set up for the inevitable heartbreak against the Ukraine.

We defended well but that's about it. The ball just wasn't sticking up front and as a result didn't create an awful lot of chances.

Decent display. As much as the slow, laboured play was annoying at time, it could be attirbuted to the fact that France were acclimatised to the heat and we weren't as much as anything, due to where the two teams were playing. Sprayed the all around nicely a few times and are showing definite promise. Looking well placed to get through now.

The annoyance is just ever so gently starting to become apparent in the anti-englanders who were holding out for a collapse.

By the way, that ref was a ****ing joke. The foul on Johnson that wasn't given actually made me laugh. That's got to be bias.
