The French were great at picking the ball from clumsy English players who dont have good close control. All the bellyaching about fouls not given is unreal. The ref did very well overall.

I thought England were just holding out for a draw from the moment they scored the opener. Apart from Wellbeck they were poor as an attacking force (and in fact Wellbeck dd his best work getting behind the ball). Typical Hodgson team: set up to concede as little space as possible. Very workmanlike and uninspiring. I was impressed by France, they knocked it about nicely without creating lots of chances and I thought they were unfortunate not to get the winner.

Infraction incoming

they should have done more with their possesion tho, if i was a france fan i'd be disapointed..they have far better players than us

France are a work in progress in terms of team building.

Cant understand anyone who saw that game today and couldn't tell you who were the better team by a clear head and shoulders. England were hardly ever a threatening force in that match. The French were one pass away from opening England up on countless occasions.

Every now and then Woy has a gameplan where he sicks his strikers and a mid against the defense of teams with weak back line who also play it from the back. Its given good teams like Arsenal fits in the past. France's back 4 didn't look like they were very hot and it might have forced a mistake or 2 if he applied it today.

It was mate, it really was. There was a clear difference in class in terms of attacking play.

There wasn't at all. The stats showed alot of shots - how many were inside the box? We could have shot from outside of the box but unless you have space to shoot, its pointless as it will just go straight to the keeper.

Every time France had the ball i wasn't particularly worried, they had possession but did nothing with it whatsoever other than shoot when they couldnt work the ball in the box.

And the referee had a very poor game, the fact that Young and Ox were booked for first time fouls, yet players like Cabaye got away with several says it all.

They never got round the back of the defence once...we got round there's a fair few times with less talented players.

France reminded me of a poor version of your fave team Spain. All prissy passing, no penetration...bad five a side team.

I think if the referee had been less bias, England had a decent chance to win the game. That said, Milner should have scored in the first half. Better than I was expecting to see!

France were clearly the better team but they were held at a distance for most of the game (albeit Hart did well). The best chance not converted was Milner's in the first half.

One pass away? They couldn't work themselves an opening, just like England couldn't. A draw was a correct result
