Just the "I'm too Everton" bit gave me that impression tbh mate. Fair play if that wasn't the case like.

Sorry mate, I didn't mean it to sound like that, what I meant is, i'm too into Everton to be bothered about anything else, didnt mean it if it come across that way, apologies

I think they did turn up. They were relentless at moving the ball and getting up the pitch. England made that difficult by having 8 behind the ball almost all of the game. Those two lines of four were disciplined enough to blunt the French attack. But that comment is as good as it gets from an England perspective. I also think you make too much about what's to come back into the team. Rooney can be the difference, yes. But Young is no mug and Wellbeck will keep his place.

Bottom line here is this: England just cant do what other top international teams can do - control the ball and work it into the last third - so they make it difficult for top opposition to do that. There's nothing wrong with that if that's all you have. Which is why I wouldn't be too critical of England today. They kept it together with an organised (if uninspiring) appraoch. I expect a different set up for Sweden and Ukraine.

They didn't seem sharp or direct enough for me, especially on the back of the last time we played them when they were free flowing. They looked cautious for large chunks, Diarra sat back very deep with Cabeye falling back every now and then. Ribery was poor and Benzema looked like he couldnt be arsed being in the box.

It's building blocks with England for me. A big reset button. We had spells of good possession in chunks but the ridgidness meant there's no alternation or players asking for. Which, with the players at his disposal is expected.

They look like Everton in a nutshell. I just think its good foundations for when the likes of wilshire, Rodwell, Rooney, sturridge, walker etc all develop and come in for the world cup. It'll change and look better imo

Just woke up from my nap. Was absolutely f*cked after work and only made it til half time. Thought Lescott's header was decent and James Milner was absolutely gash. Also, I was impressed by Mexes, haven't really seen much of him in the past.
