Will never understand those that thought Gray and Townsend were clever transfer dealings. It’s never a good move to add mediocrity to the team.

Those players cost us about £180m to sign. Of course their absence will have an impact.

Gylfi won’t play for us again. Kean has been crap and is leaving anyway. Gomes is diabolical and Gbamin has never played 90 minutes. These players are not finishing top half.

I’m not reading too much into preseason games as we rarely perform in them.

Alex Iwobi needs binning though, and we need the England Pickford, not the everyday one.

We rarely perform once the season starts too so the two are probably linked.

Far too many players missing to read much into that. A whole front line and half a midfield.

DCL, Kane. Richarlison, Gbamin, Gomes and Sigurdsson all missing. We were away at old Trafford with more than half a team missing.

I hate the result, but it doesn’t surprise me at all. We had no front line.

The only players in that list who we genuinely missed were Lewin and Richarlison, and maybe Gbamin, but at the end of the day with him he's hardly played so we don't know what we're missing from him yet.

Not very happy with the hiring of RB, but I do not intend to judge him on the basis of 4 matches. Just as I do not consider Pickford as one of the world's best goalkeepers on the basis of 10-15 games - as some here do. I also do not overreact on the basis of a football match that does not matter - even if it gives cause for some concern.

I hear the players have introduced a major change in their post match routine, no longer will they take it in turns to come out and say “The players have let themselves down today but we are still together as a group and we go again in the next game”. They are going to take it in turns to come out and say “We are not very good at football and we won’t be very good at football for the next game, however we are together in not being very good at football”.

Gylfi I accept, Kean and Gbamin could well be big players for us. Kean isn’t going to PSG now. I think we are keeping him unless someone matches our valuation.

Poor as Gomes has been, he still played a lot of games for us. I don’t think the manager can face much blame when that many players are missing including the whole front line.
