dyche’s army were tired and uninspired, but stoke did not really have any gilt edged chances either. we did, and easily could have 3 or 4 goals. IF we had a finisher. Are the board watching any pre season games?

Stoke view

given our complete team / squad rebuild this summer, 10 players with more supposedly to come next week .. and yet more before the window closes we’re still in the bedding in stage

So on a surprisingly warm day ..you don’t get many of them up on the escarpment .. a decent enough work out for both teams , from our view the first 15 minutes were very good ..the game then became more even for the next 45 until 62 minutes saw our changes made to purely provide game time for late arrivals

Hugely underachieving at home , late goals , especially against teams who sit back has been a major issue for us , so although just a friendly and the changes , the late goal was a bit disappointing , friendly or not Id have liked us to have seen the daw out .. not least as the EFL are suggesting added time will be applied more accurately next season , so we need to be prepared for extended games ..presumably why 3 & 6 minutes were added even in a friendly yesterday

calmer decision making needed when on the few occasions we found ourselves in good positions against not great , but still technically better and aware players still a concern - as was our lack of genuine goal threat .. true of both teams

Depending on fine tuning and further recruitment in the next few weeks goal scoring may remain the biggest issue to hamper us ..indeed both clubs
