Kennedy is class, always catches the eye
If he scores loads of goals, there'll be hype on the Sky
With Scottish blood in his veins
The Blues can only gains
His return from the loan will be like a buy!

I believe RM has in the past pointed out that in the Spanish and Portuguese leagues the 'big' clubs have 'B' teams in the lower leagues, and that this is where the younger / less developed players earn their stripes. I think this 'mass loan' approach is his way of emulating that. I am sure this hasn't happened before under Moyes.
Plus, if these lads in the end aren't good enough for Premiership, at least they will be able to be seen by lower league clubs so that they can stand a chance of keeping a pro contract somewhere. Much better than rotting in the secrecy of the Premiership U21 league... where they have a career expectancy of roughly 3 years...

Think he said in that hourlong interview that all the lads going out on loan have a career in football in football ahead but if its at Everton remains to be seen. Then picked out Browning as closest to first team.

All in all...lots of lower league games to keep an eye on these days!

I think I've heard mention that they want Browning to go out on loan this week too.

Martinez has said that the first six months of the season he wanted to get the younger players playing his way but that they won't really learn anything in the U21 league and they had to go out to gain real world experience. It could be make or break for a few of them.

It sounds like he wants one or two to join the first team squad next year though.

Does anybody know what kind/style football the clubs we have loaned all these youths to adhere to?

I know sod all about any teams outside the premiership. I'm only arsed about Everton.

lets not kid ourselves we'd be lucky if at least 10% are good enough to break into the first team and become stars like barkley

MK Dons, where Chris Long has gone have a rep for playing on the deck not sure about the rest

Gary Johnson, the Yeovil manager, always tries to get his teams playing good football so I think it's good for Duffy and particularly Lundstram to be spending half a season there.

Sounds like whats happening is that he's used the first 5-6 months to drum into the young lads the way he expects them to play if they have a future at everton under him, now he's shipping them off on loan to see if they will develop whilst keeping to his instructions about how he wishes to see them develop and play the game, smart managing and will tell him a lot about the ones who may be closest to the first team squad come next year, one thing for sure is being a young everton lid on the books is gonna be a lot more of a development and interaction curve from now on, he expects results and its nice to see him putting the onus on the young players to show him they are learning

Who's to say Martinez might not treble that figure with his approach?

What Martinez wants is a wealth of talent he can chose from. You can't choose from that if its not experienced enough to ever be chosen.

There's been complaints for beards

The youth and reserve leagues don't play enough games.

Its specific to England and one reason this country is where it is.

You've got to challenge the kids competively to make them bridge the gap to the first team.

I love his approach to using the youth side of the game mate, its obvious already that he sees everton benefiting via loaning from the masisve money clubs whilst at the same time using the lower leagues of the uk to develop our own, very much a win win situation and great for our academy long term, who wouldnt want to join a team who regulary gets a influx of loan players from the likes of chelsea and barca whilst at the same point their given all the grounding here to succeed and given the experience in competitive leagues so if they don't make the grade at Everton their not gonna be on the scrapheap as they have proven grounding in the championship and league one etc, for a young lads family deciding where to send their lid, that must be a massive incentive knowing their lads are gonna be given all possible chances of making a career in the game.

Credit for Martinez for being a totally class act imo

Good chance for the U18 players to step up to the U21 league for the rest of the season. And same too for the U16 players to be playing at U18 level.

Will probably lead to much worse results than we have been getting but better for the players to be in first team games.

End of the day mate, what matters is how many start coming through the production line into the senior squad, that what in essence dictates a successful academy and draws in other talented kids to join
