Matty's Question Thread

Yeah.

Dont think his device is used though. He uses an iPhone to come on.

The 'multi' accounts which hit the same IP is another device.

Should regularly update passwords and enable 2FA etc. But his issue isn't his account being accessed.

It is weird, but its definitely someone who he knows well given IP, and the information they know about him like girlfriends name, and the screenshots they sent him made reference to his history.

god knows

for my wifi? got a clue
No 2FA (2 factor authentication) its for your online accounts and most accounts let you set it up.

It basically means that if someone is trying to sign in to one of your online accounts they need your password AND a code or for you to confirm that you authorise the login in some way.

You can still stay logged in as normal on YOUR phone, computer etc. but if you log out and log back in OR if someone from a location/device unfamiliar with that account at tries to log in it will ask for a code from an authentication service such as an app like Microsoft Authenticator or for you to confirm the log in with a message sent to your phone.

You’ve probably seen it when a code has been texted to your phone or something when you’ve tried to log into an account.

Gimme a minute and I’ll try to screenshot an example if you’re interested.

I think its more localised WiFi given only people who have ever used it is Matty, and accounts connected to these shenanigans. Its also been used exclusively by the person.

Gave the IP to him, dates, and https://whatismyipaddress.com earlier to help him try to identify but think his heads battered trying to understand it

says my city is kingston on that 🤷🏻

Aye, but mindful have to be careful what information I can disclose mate.

Yeah that’s it that’s 2FA some important accounts like email set it up automatically using your phone, email address etc and some places like Google will send a message to another Google app like YouTube asking you to press approve or do not approve.

A lot of places you have to set it up though GOT included.

It won’t help you with this IP address thing but it’ll help stop your other accounts getting hacked. Facebook, Instagram etc are notoriously crap with security and her hacked a lot. Adding it for that can help prevent that

Matty in his sleep 1/10

I thought that, or maybe some bizarre split personality situation, OR with the time of year, it could be a g-g-g-ghost.

Matty has my sympathies, I hope he quickly gets to the bottom of this conundrum and it all turns out lovely for him.
