Transfer Rumour Maximillian James Aarons

You get glimpses of it don’t you with him now, like against Spurs.

Love it when he turns the clock back for a game of a special moment but yeah he’s never been the same.

....I can understand why Ancelotti will want Coleman around for at least another season. He‘s still a superior RB to Holgate, Godfrey & Kenny and will be ideal back-up to whoever comes in. Coming off the bench, he can still positively influence games, even playing ahead of the full back.

Terrific is Coleman, I can see him going into management.

I think Spurs may not be too active in the transfer market this summer.
They have the cost of the new stadium to carry, the lack of gate receipts due to covid and the collapse of the esl are all factors which may limit their spending.
Plus Mourinho redundancy payment...

The one glaring thing our team lacks, real pace.

....I think you have to look at areas of the pitch. DCL & Richarlison are fine, indeed DCL is rapid. Godfrey is more Ferrari than Rolls Royce & is addressing the lack of defensive pace although I’d like 3 of the back four to be pacy.

We now have ‘legs’ in midfield (Doucoure, Gbamin) but no real pace & a lack of mobility with some individuals.

It's pretty clear that writing him the check for his wages next season as a backup and sub makes more sense than bringing someone else in to hold down those roles, unless we find an insane loan deal.

Such a loan is not totally out of the realm of possibility if sanctions with real teeth occur, though I would consider that unlikely.

I'd be looking to offload Kenny, Holgate and Keane to put to alongside an extra 25m to get Aarons plus a quality centre half in this summer.

Kenny should bring in 3-5m.

Holgate and Keane should bring in about 20m total.

Those three players named above, for me, are trash and will only take us backwards if they remain within the squad next season. Nowhere near good enough for a team with aspirations to finish in the top third of the league.

Gives us 45-50m to sign Aarons and a third centre half to challenge Mina and Godfrey, plus hopefully Branthwaite comes back improved from Blackburn ready to get some game time.

...plus paying off Mourinho & co.
Must have been a hefty payment given he had over 2 years left on his 12m+ a season deal. Would have been owed about 27m in wages, and likely came to an agreement to settle for 15-20m I would imagine. Not bad going!

Great job football mangers have. Mess up and get paid 15-20 million. How much money has he made from getting sacked over the years?

He should be around because I feel he actually gets the club.

Like I feel he genuinely cares, which is rare these days and ultimately, he’d be an excellent back up.

No problems with Coleman, he’s a consummate professional, but he’s just a backup now, but I’d keep him around, 100%.

Pace hurts out wide. Pace through the middle is useful, but pop some real quality speedsters on the flanks and you're in great shape.

Did he mess up though? He had to them to a cup final and still in contention for europe in league. Levy sacks poch after getting to a european cup final‍♂️
Plus we some need to talk - i.e. the compensation for Roberto, Kouman, Silva, and Fat Sam ...... add all that up we could have bought 6 - 10 new players...... add to that the cost of DOF ...two of them .....
