Mayor's Bramley Moore Dock Open Letter To Evertonians

This is far and away the dumbest thread in the last 3-4 years on this site.

You could run a temporary track out one side over the stinking Mersey, swing it back in through a friggin side door and not compromise the stadium. You could put it on the roof, you could suspend it over the entire stadium with virtually anything, even bloody hot air balloons if you'd like. There are a million ways to to do this, none of which are even that difficult. Why hasn't it been done?

Why the heck would it have been? No one has NEEDED to do it. Not because it isn't possible. We could build an elevator to the moon, a building a mile high, etc.

It is amazing that we have so many architects and scientists in here to tell us the limitations of building and physics.

Even worse, demanding to see the designs. What a joke. The designs will be ready for the fans when the club deems them to be ready. We rip them about the terrible PR they've done on other things, yet we demand them to just throw a design out there without considering the PR of it?

Someone even accused them of spending 52M on two players to DISTRACT from an announcement that they were going after the CWGs? Seriously?

Errrrr you couldn't do any of those things mate. With there being a "million" different ways & you were firing some out, i thought you'd go with some of your stronger ideas to strengthen your argument mate.

Dan Meis seems like a nice bloke, and a very talented architect, but he needs to know the following.

Liverpool is f*****g Baltic for 11 and a half months of every year.

Before he sharpens that pencil, he needs to walk down the dock road in November.

Look at the mess in Liverpool one, basically a series of aerodynamic wind tunnels.

It needs to be designed to accommodate the permanent Winter of Murkeyside.
Let him know on Twitter.

OFC it wouldn't be suitable - he built it 17 years ago mate

BTW ever thought that if his stadium is going to be extremely innovative he won't be wanting to plaster architect plans of it all over the shop - only for someone else to effectively steal/copy many of his ideas?

I don't actually understand your mentality Dave, you swing from patience and give it time in some areas and 'now, now now' show me now attitude in others.

The man has designed some amazing buildings and complexes, won multiple awards for some of these, some of his designs have been heralded as amongst the best sporting arenas ever at the time they where built, but you don't like him because he doesn't show YOU pictures and he tweets too much.

He also designed the MEN arena in mancland and these other none sporting projects

  • LA Clippers Corporate Headquarters
  • Kun Ming Towers
  • China Air Headquarters
  • Peterson Automotive Museum
  • DTS World Headquarters
  • Herald Square
  • One Chase Manhattan
  • Doha Towers
  • Santa Clara HERO Site
  • Shenbei Live! Entertainment District
  • Doha Al Jassim Hotel
  • Pelican Lakes
  • Pizzeria Mozza
  • The Garage
I am sure that this is the first time he has ever NOT released early planning for all those projects mate
As stated above, I dont expect blueprints. I do expect some ball park idea of what we are looking at here. His cryptic tweets do more harm than good...as does that 'kin idiot Anderson and his statements. Whilst the club just repeat that pair's utterances.

It's a mess, and I dont blame people here expressing major reservations and concerns as to where this stadium is heading.

No there shouldn't.
Why? How long into the KD and DK projects did we see some sort of images? Not long that is for sure.

The mentality of some Evertonians is hard to take, tbh. I find the 'we have no right to know' attitude cringeworthy. It's embarrassing that some people think these 'kin idiots know wtf they're doing despite years of evidence to the contrary.

No offence, but they really don't have to tell the fans anything until they are ready to release their actual proposal, design etc.. to the press.

Maybe they haven't actually got any designs and its all ideas. You know ideas.

Why do you believe they owe you or anyone the pleasure of details?

Especially if its all still early....

Judging by the talk (and i agree with the talk if we do a track and look Olympic like that's not on) on the floated idea of a track has gone down they would be fools to simply release every idea plus pictures and some sketches to the public. That would just give people like you more fuel to be negative. Its bad press simple as that.

Be bloody patient. In the last few months the club seems to know what its doing.
Unreal.

And why pray tell could you not do that? Seriously, tell me why it would be impossible to suspend a track over the pitch? Tell me why it couldn't be on the roof? Tell me why it could be bloody underground!

The ONLY way to do this is to compromise the stadium. That's it. The only way. Dan Meis says differently, but apparently half this thread disagrees with Dan Meis.

Meis just for kicks build the worlds first fan shaped roof for Miller park that opens and closes in 10 minutes. It had NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE. Are you seriously suggesting this is more difficult? To build a TEMPORARY TRACK?

They built a temporary ice rink in Las Vegas one year just for fun to host an NHL preseason game.

Elevator to the moon, dude.

Not on this. It's too important.

If the Mayor and Architect are so confident, rather than insult the fan base with buzzwords, give some detail as to how this isn't a compromise.

I don't trust Joe Anderson. I don't trust Dan Meis. Why should I? I don't think any Everton fan should trust them to be a custodian of this football club.

I'm not putting trust in anyone for this. Far too important to let it be cocked up.

Hope Manchester gets it instead.

Seriously though what kind of athletics games doesn't have the field events in the same stadium as the track events?!

It's weird.

Not as weird as when they reveal the new 300m track, the place for 70m dash and 81m hurdles. If they invite less countries (or disqualify the runner in lane 8 every race) we can probably get away with a 7 lane track.

Don't want to sound ITK but i wouldn't book tickets in the first few rows in the stand the javelins are thrown towards. :p

Yes, nets are physically impossible to construct.

Even been to a hockey game?

Stop it would you.

In the last week you have shown yourself to be the most negative, hateful, paranoid, deluded "fan" there is off Everton. Clearly we have new owners and leadership and still you want to drag it all back to the days when nothing good happened.

Anyone that disagrees with you is wrong or embarrassing or whatever other disparaging comment you have made.

Get a grip the club owes you nothing.

Because the mayor or some councilman and the lad on twitter keep making suggestions you think these are the words of the club? Of course the club will echo people position on things sure they do that every morning with newspaper articles about the club that doesn't mean its true though.

The rest of us maybe be skeptical at certain plans and ideas and stuff coming from the club but it seems more hopeful that we are going in the right direction thus we will never share your views.

How would the fans watch if it was on the roof?
