I agree - as long as we don't have an oligark or a sheik dropping oil money on us, this is the way forward. Buy the young prospects, play them and sell them when the right offer comes in. The only think I have doubts about is Moyes - he does not like playing youngsters at all. They are only ever given a chance when injuries have forced his hand and the team more or less selected itself.

Thats exactly right....sell 1 = buy 2. Sell 2 = buy 4....and slowly become profitable -- then be in a position to keep the players and charge for honours.

Moyes WOULD play this guy IF he bought him.

It's very different when it's a young striker to a CM (much less pressure on them with how much they are able to be exposed), especially when we are so short of forwards. He would be played, even if it's only a sub appearance every few Prem games and in early cup games, although why would we want it any different unless Jelavic is injured? I'd sooner sell Anichebe, bring this kid in on lower wages than him and blood him in.

James Vaughan, Wayne Rooney, Dan Gosling, Ross Barkley, Seamus Coleman, Magaye Gueye.

But yeah, nobody else.
IMO only Coleman has been given a proper chance. Even Rooney was kept on the bench just prior to him being sold to United and thrown into their starting 11.

I suppose, but at the same time RB shouldn't really be priority for us, I know most of us hate Neville and Hibbert playing there but we don't have a real RM at all. Clyne would have been a quality signing, considering the reported fee was 2.5m ffs!

that's what i said mate. moyes doesn't see it as a priority

2 goals, 3 assists in 14 starts doesn't look good in paper, but he is still only 17 years old and was playing for a team that went on to be relegated for the 3rd time in 10 years last season. Oh, and it should be noted he had his injury battles (but you probably expected that anyway).

Naturally at his age, he's quiet raw, and I do personally feel we need players a little more 'complete' than he is. Sitting on the bench for us probably wouldn't be what's best for him either. Considering the position we're in financially, if we spent £6m on him it would be an incredibly big risk.

Rooney played games for us, mate. Unfair to say otherwise.
I didn't say he didn't - however he was never first choice up front for us. Whereas at United he was top dog from day one.

I love it when we give youth a proper chance, which is why it is so frustrating to see Neville in midfield when we have someone like Barkley, who should be the future of the team.

Yeah Fellaini was 17 when he was bought.OH WAIT.

Fellaini - 19 yo from Belgian Pro League. Paid 15 million for a holding midfielder.

Ended up being a brilliant piece of business.

Niang - 17 yo played ligue 1 last year. Sun reporting we are paying 5 million and he is a striker.

It is yet to be known if it is actually official and there is no way of knowing the future. But if he turns out to be as good as some predict this is a steal. He may be 2 years younger than Fellaini when we bought him, but it is for 1/3 of the price and at a premier position. And I dont believe that his signing will mean we dont have a RW in mind. I would be shocked if we go into the season without a new RW.

haha, im such a tit, i thought got him mized up with chris samba, use to think cherno was his nickname, realize it was just my nickname for him because cherno is a cool way of saying chris IMO

He was immense on Champ Man 01/02

Barkley, Duffy, Vellios, Baxter etc are the big arguments against him giving youth a chance.

Rodwell, Gosling, Rooney, Vaughan, Coleman, Gueye, Fellaini and Anchiebe all got chances though.

Though I'd argue Coleman and Rodwell may have been played but they were also mishandled. It just depends on whether Moyes fancies them, I think. Mostly he doesn't the ultra conservative risk averse twit.

Just checked the updated BBC Transfer Rumour page.. pic of Fellaini came up.. says he is injured. ****s sake, thats not gossip is it !
