Mcfadden - still without a club

One of the best goals scored against the great France team in Paris; it was reported worldwide. He also pulled us back into a game we were 2-1 down at Metallist Kharkiv with a well taken strike after a clever turn outside the box. He scored 15 goals in 48 games for his country and was feted as the greatest player in a generation. As a loyal Evertonian, I've always given my support to those in Royal Blue, and if they've made a positive contribution to the club, then I'll respect them when they move on. Last words on the subject, so you can get back to watching your One Direction DVD's or sniffin your sisters underwear
I'm going to anyway but not because you told me too.

We have been really bad for strikers in this premiership era. MC Fadden just a reminder of our list of promising strikers not reaching potential. Like Ferguson is my childhood hero. You would imagine he would have 100-200 goals. I wonder how we compare to the other teams in the prem to prolific strikers namely the ones that have been steadily in the Premier league.

Beckford against Chelsea is one of my favourites ever. Took on their whole defence without once having the bakl under control. Never seen anything like it before or since.

Beckford is one of my favourite ever players, not because he was amazing, but because he represented the normal sunday-league fella who suddenly finds himself promoted to the big-time...playing for Everton and scoring amazing goals!

He was superb vs Blackpool (volleying the 4-3, in that game where Saha bagged 4...finished 5-3...one of the most entertaining games I've ever seen us play). Expert goals on other games too, tho' agree the Chelsea goal was beguilingly-strange. He definitely meant that finish.

We sold him one season too early, he was a useful energetic bench option. First touch of Lukaku's mar, tho'.

Agree with all of that, would've definitely kept him an extra year. If I remember rightly that was the year that Saha and Cahill took until January to register a goal each.

His first ever goal for us against Bolton was a pearl as well, curler into the far top bin in the last minute to win us a cup tie. And his smart finish at Anfield brought us closer to a win there than any other time since 1999 (until Howard ruined it by flying off his line to bring one the gobshites down).

Beckford was magic.

keep posting, mate. I've got my own challenge round here everytime I defend Tony Cottee (the best goalscorer we've had in the last 40 years if you discount Lineker's single season). Without us, these kinds of players will just be forgotten about.

I feel that is me and possibly @ijjysmith keeping Billy's glorious name alive so I know how you feel.
