Great scenes from fans and players alike.
For those saying we shouldn't celebrate, it is not a celebration, it is an outpouring of relief. Sometimes good things come out of bad experiences, these scenes show me that there is a possibility that we are going to see better times. At certain periods of the last 6 months, it has been desperate and I am sure every one of us thought we were down at some point in that period, the players may have strongly thought that. Last night was the reaction to those desperate thoughts and the fact that they did not come to fruition.
What yesterday gave us was hope that Everton can still be a positive part of our lives, I am old enough now that if we had gone down it would not have affected my life outside of supporting a football club one bit but the passion I have for this team is still there.
A proper sit down with Lampard, with the players who are being touted to leave, will hopefully give them a reason to give us a year, at the very least, to see what can be done, what positive steps can be made. I would not begrudge them for leaving, and the money will be useful (if used right) but for me there is a part of me that the scenes last night might have them thinking a bit.
