Media relishing Everton’s demise

That's a strange take? You'll have to introduce me to all of these fans who believe we are entitled to the success of others because in 38 years of supporting Eveterton and going hoke and away, I can't say I've met one yet.
It's hard to hear but it is what people think of us. Big challenges ahead

I don't know what you are talking about? What is hard to hear? Your saying "we" are self entitled fans demanding the success of others then you've just said its what people think of us??

Pick one of these options for yourself in your own time

1) I'm chatting crap and I don't know how to put a sentence together

2) I'm a WUM and really bad at it

C) I'm a rs supporter pretending to be a Blue and failing miserably at it

We have behaved with dignity. We have not got every English club banned from Europe. We have welcomed foreign teams to Goodison and befriended them - Bayern in 85 an example. We have behaved on our travels abroad....however that shower has somehow managed to get the media to wipe its memory of all their atrocious behaviour over the years.

In 1989 I cried for the 92 - literally. It was a tragedy. Meanwhile Heysel seems to be forgotten.

But I agree - I don't get how we are treated so badly by media and officials

Super league perhaps? We seem to be party poopers?
All of this!

Great Post.

In reality, if we are seen as little old Everton because we have heart, then I'd rather stay as the Everton I love than have any media fawning over us because we "meet" their obscene criteria.

Honestly, there's rarely any justice in the world, and certainly none in a Premier league where clubs owned by terrible regimes make it to the very top, but if I was neutral I would look at a club like us, who have had their recruitment dictated by slimy agents in the ear of the chairman, and might be glad such poor management was being punished. Maybe we're a warning sign of what happens when you are literally run by accountants instead of football people.

Very good post mate. We are not all wanting to see you relegated - loads of us are supporting you from afar and wishing you all the best.

I think it might be because you are such an iconic football club with a rich and historically successful history - and also coz you’ve spu*nked such an unbelievably massive amount of money over the past few seasons probably equal to most of the current top 6 net spend.

But you are not alone plenty of us proper fans from down to earth community football clubs want you to do well but we are not out there on social media overtly giving a balanced perspective for you.

I have faith that you’ll just about scrape survival this season and then kick on next season somewhere between middle and bottom third whilst Frank reshapes your obvious unbalanced squad which don’t look easy especially with the elite clubs friend known as the perversely counter-intuitive name of Financial Fair Play (which is anything but).

It’s easy to support the illustrious serial winners, but what’s important is family traditions, what’s in your heart, and loyalty to the club you love. My lot never win anything but I love em unconditionally and would defend them with my life. We are what we are. Believe me, you have lots to be happy about!

If you do come down I honestly believe you just might enjoy a season in the Championship it’s a great league. Not perhaps from your current viewpoint but it’s competitive and fast and 2 games a week (and get this - usually play on a Saturday like the old days!)

Good luck for the rest of the season, keep the faith and cheer your team and manager to the rafters to give your team the very best chance of getting out of the sh*t. You’re cheering your shirt not the plonkers wearing them.

As for media not liking you and wallowing in your demise - welcome to our world! ? ?
Nice post , cheers.

Reading some articles over the last few days I get the impression that the football meadow fraternity are really hoping for our relegation.

I knew there lots of kopites infesting the media but this seems much more than usual almost belittling the club.

Question what have we ever done to get this much hostility?

I'd be laughing at Everton going down if I weren't a blue.

We've given them nothing to work with for decades in terms of juicy stories and dramatic stuff to report on. We offer them nothing. We just exist in a state of perpetual meh and its left the gutter press very annoyed. However us being relegated, falling flat on our arse and potentially facing even worse troubles? Now that's an interesting story to them. They probably hope that we really suffer and go into administration. That way there will be lots of nice job losses for them to "report on" (aka wank over) and very sad people for them to interview. That's when they'll pretend they care about whats happened and act very sad for both the fans and the city as a whole. I expect nothing less from the vermin in our media, these are the same filth that push people like Caroline Flack to the point that they end their own life. They don't care about rights and wrongs. If they decide they can get somthing from you in a positive way they will. But if they decide that you hurting is more useful to them, they will drink your blood for fun and make you watch them do it.

Nothing against you mate but sod them, or words to that effect. And I know it's a long shot but just imagine their faces if we defy the odds and stay up. To be fair to we have has an unbelievable amount of injuries this year, which would effect any team.

In my opinion it's the novelty of it all which will drive clicks and views. It isn't very often that a giant of English football falls out of their ivory tower to their death. Fans of teams that are less successful historically will relish it because they can point to it and say look at how "big" you are now. The slimey six want us gone because we rock the boat too much. They don't want any formerly great team to rise up and usurp them.

In short, the only ones who will be upset by us going down will be us. Everyone else is actually excited by the prospect and are hoping it happens.

Stop listening to it. They talk actual drivel. Their 'taking opposite stances' approach is so childish and transparent that it's actually embarrassing. (Assuming they still do that because I stopped listening to them years ago)
I stopped listening ages ago. Is Micky Quinn still on?

Essentially our fans believe they are entitled to the success of others, maintain that we are a massive club yet have achieved next to nothing in decades. There will be 20 year old people in the UK who have grown up &don't know anything about us other than that we are also a club in Liverpool.

We have a culture still hanging on from the 80s that hasn't changed. It modernised slightly in the Moyes years but our story is stale. We have stagnated and not evolved.
It's not that other fans hate us, it's that we're not interesting anymore. What is the Everton story?
Not having that - just over a year ago Carlo briefly had us top of the league and the buzz was audible.
If we go down it will be only the fifth season in 133 years we won't be gracing the top flight of football.....
Nobody is even close to that - that is our story.
