Media relishing Everton’s demise

It's such a big story because Everton don't get relegated, and should the unthinkable happen we will undoubtedly be the biggest club to be relegated in generations.

Don't wanna hear about other lesser clubs and their yo-yo histories.
As a rule of thumb Everton do not get relegated.

The board and owners, every one responsible for either from the last 30yrs, bar none, should be put in front of a firing squad. 'kin criminal what they've allowed this club, OUR CLUB, to become.

Shame on them all

Reading some articles over the last few days I get the impression that the football meadow fraternity are really hoping for our relegation.
I knew there lots of kopites infesting the media but this seems much more than usual almost belittling the club.

Question what have we ever done to get this much hostility?
Apart from the obvs rs angle...we have provided them with a clickbait agenda they just couldn't turn down.
Throw in a side dish of gallant minnows Burnley.
Its like giving a donkey strawberries, as is said (why you even would is another question, but thats how the saying goes, so who am I to change it)

We have behaved with dignity. We have not got every English club banned from Europe. We have welcomed foreign teams to Goodison and befriended them - Bayern in 85 an example. We have behaved on our travels abroad....however that shower has somehow managed to get the media to wipe its memory of all their atrocious behaviour over the years.

In 1989 I cried for the 92 - literally. It was a tragedy. Meanwhile Heysel seems to be forgotten.

But I agree - I don't get how we are treated so badly by media and officials

Super league perhaps? We seem to be party poopers?

We are too nice of a club, like you say we behaved with dignity. There is no controversy, we don't have money to spend on big players that bring in speculation about how they might perform. Five/Six years on people are still talking about Pogba, when he just doesn't fit Man United's last couple of managers. It's not the same when you spend 50m on an equally similar waste of space like Siggy.

Secondly collectively 500m spent on the club recently has been a complete failure. There doesn't seem to be anything positive about Everton to talk about. Man United are the only team that can get away with media attention whilst performing poorly. No one's talking about Leicester, and they just won it a few years ago.

Since current owner came in for me... Can remember the chants "were [Poor language removed] rich" the fawning for further riches from "uncle Usmanov".
Always said do we want to be Blackburn... Or Leeds, both went for it and factually had greater success the latter finally getting back. We are not even Wigan at least they got the FA cup before their demise into the lower leagues.

There were a couple of horribly mean-spirited articles from Spurs fan Jonathan Liew in the Graun either side of the Derby.

Unfortunately, the 'media darlings' are over the other side of the park, for several reasons. Ultimately, they cant help themselves to kick us while we are down, and they will continue to do so, because chasing a domestic/European cup and premier league title quadruple just isn't enough for them. Us being in the situation that we are is literally the icing on their cake, and they love the cake. The only thing we can do is just hope we find 3 or 4 wins form somewhere. Desperate times.

Football has turned in to a horrible industry. It’s so clear that there’s corruption and collusion to aid the biggest teams.

It’s just not proper sport anymore, it’s a closed shop that’s been commercialised to the maximum and they still want more.
I agree with you. The prem is now run by and for the benefit of the TV companies and the armchair supporters of those two teams who play in red.
They have to ensure that they win most of their games otherwise the plastic fans won't pay their subscriptions.
The rest of us are just the side show.
