Media relishing Everton’s demise

Spending insane money, buying a ton of players. Hiring a ton of managers, sacking a ton of managers, building a new stadium, and being one of the biggest clubs to ever go down is a massive story. So of course the media would love it.

Reading some articles over the last few days I get the impression that the football meadow fraternity are really hoping for our relegation.

I knew there lots of kopites infesting the media but this seems much more than usual almost belittling the club.

Question what have we ever done to get this much hostility?

I think the rest of the premier league club owners are relishing our demise too, due to our over spending and lack of punishment so far.

TBH, if we go down and don't get a new owner then I can see us going bust. We are more than likely going to get a points deduction next season too...

tbf Br there's no way id call Carragher a professional at what he does. He's a rs knobhead so they have him on there not for his opinion, but for his massive bias to the rs which they know brings the coin in.

It's such a big story because Everton don't get relegated, and should the unthinkable happen we will undoubtedly be the biggest club to be relegated in generations.



Don't wanna hear about other lesser clubs and their yo-yo histories.
As a rule of thumb Everton do not get relegated.



The board and owners, every one responsible for either from the last 30yrs, bar none, should be put in front of a firing squad. 'kin criminal what they've allowed this club, OUR CLUB, to become.

We’ve been irrelevant for years, us getting relegated would weirdly make us relevant again for 5 minutes in the eyes of the media. The league is totally set up for the select few clubs to get all the headlines and airtime and unless one of the other clubs does a Leicester or tries to get relegated like us.

I don’t think the media hates us, I just think we’re in the unique position in which we unfortunately share the City with an incredibly successful side with a fanbase that’s downright odd and has infiltrated every corner of the media meaning you get the hilariously “top bantz” from child assaulters like Carragher every week and the really weird news and opinion pieces which appear to just be digs at the club.

Mix this in with the relegation form and the owner who’s willing to rub shoulders with absolute slime balls like Jim White and hey presto the league are getting more “trending”, the hacks have an easy piece to write and the pundits can keep coming up with more incredibly hilarious takes on the club.

Much as I hate seeing it, our actions by being one of the biggest spenders over the last few years in British football have brought this on, coupled with how we go through managers at a rate of 1 per season.

If this were another club I'd be laughing at the thought of them going down.

Sadly over recent years, or at least since Moyes/Martinez left this is far from the Everton I've loved and supported since birth.

The board and their inane actions over time have tarnished us badly, we did used to be well like by a lot of other clubs fans.

Completely agree , and they have the temerity to say that other clubs think "What would Everton do " .

The level of delusion at the highest level in our club is frightening and ultimately the reason was are in this mess.

I’m sure we’ve all laughed when big clubs like Leeds, Villa, the barcodes went down but deep down wanted them back up in the prem apart from the Geordie bellends who could have disappeared for good.
